Aha! Finally I am at a computer and can post properly instead of in duplicate :p So let me just tell our shipping story in case it helps anyone else in the future. We live in a rural town and from everything we'd read, we expected our chicks to be delivered to the PO and then we would be called and then go and pick them up. We went to our PO yesterday, told our story and left our phone number with strict instructions to call whenever the chicks arrived, regardless of time. The postlady was awesome and we were confident it would work out. We knew they may not come the next day but we were certain by the second.

Well tracking changed on the morning after shipping to indicate that not only had our chicks reached our local hub (30 min away from our town) but that sorting had been completed there and that they had "departed", yay! So we hung around the house all day waiting for the call. At 330 we called our local PO and she couldn't help us, said they probably won't get there until tomorrow. We were getting quite aggravated, given that we knew they were so close. A series of additional phone calls and we acertained that they never departed the sort facility and had been sitting on a shelf all day. We headed over to the PO, waited in a line that appeared to go on forever, and then finally were handed our peeping box!

All 7 were accounted for an were alive, a huge relief. One was a little quiet and sitting away from the others. We braved the hot car temperatures and quickly got the chicks home to the brooder. We gave them each a drop of nutridrench by mouth, dipped their beaks in water (spiked with ACV), and let them go. About 6 hours later, everyone looks great!

So we ordered 2 EE, 2 RIR, 2 BR and 1 meyer meal maker. I immediately thought that the bright yellow chick was the meal maker (a BO, perhaps, i thought?!) but it looks that we have 3 BR. Could she be an EE?? I know they come in all sorts of varieties, but her legs are only a tad bit darker than the RIR, and I thought the EE's at least had olive legs. I guess we will learn more as her feathers come in!

Can't believe we are finally on this adventure. It's so exciting. Here is a photo of our first witnessed chick nap- our little EE. Glad I had been warned about their ridiculous positions and semi-narcolpetic tendencies or else I would've been concerned!

That's wonderful that it all worked out, 7freesoms! My post office was super confused about my tracking number too! But when the lady figured out it was express mail, she changed her attitude drastically and told me "the guy" took them out. Out for delivery. I was SO surprised they weren't going to hold them for me to pick up. But apparently there is a special express mail delivery dude.

I remember now that you mentioned the "meal maker"! I wonder what she is!!! :)
Compare her cheeks with your other EE. They have "fat faces" hence our EE's name: Fat Face. :)
