One of the handiest nailers a person can get is a palm nailer...You can drive a single real 12D or 16D galvanized common nail, in about three seconds, and it will fit into places where a standard nailer will never go....Also, I do believe that they make an inset attachment, for finish nails...In all honesty, for the hobbyest, this is an outstanding tool, and will only require a small compressor to run it.

ETA: most of the time, you will have to add one finishing blow, with a hammer

I have a compressor, so that sounds really like a useful tool, especially since my arm is sort of weak right now.

I normally love working on a project so this one has really been pretty depressing. Normally I have a lot of fun and learn a lot.

My friend who is a Kiwi (New Zealander) just said, 'Palm nayluh, yeeah, git one'.

Looks like you can pick up a new one, from about $70 -$120...Senco is a good name...Check the pawn shops, first..There's very little to them,so there's not much to wear out. Just make sure that they can prove it works ok.

but had to have it....

If you have a princess auto there (not sure if they are in the states..) I got it for about 20.00 and they are guaranteed forever... while I generally buy name brand I couldn't resist!
