~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~ 2

Camilla grunted as Finny slammed into her back, but instead of trying to hold herself up, she let her legs loosen and collapse to absorb some of the impact. Now with a lower centre of gravity, she was able to roll sideways sharply and forcibly so that Finny crashed into the ground beside them. With a quick, slithering movement like a slippery snake, Camilla wriggled out from Finny's grasp but instead of attacking a second time, she raised her head to the brightening sky and let out a loud roar, complete with her trademark blue flame. It was time for the second battle party to join the fight.

Finny rolled on the ground, getting back to her feet with a screech. She hardly flinched as she had the wind knocked out of her, headbutting into Camilla's side. She curved her back and tried to kick at her throat with her back foot, trying to dodge the flame.

(No worries! I'm not sure what exactly the venom does, so I guess you can fill that in with your next post

Alistair pushed himself away from Otulissa the moment she screeched and released her hold on his neck. He rolled backwards across the dusty riverbed, smearing blood across the cold rocks before coming to a halt. As much as he tried to avoid her spikes, he was unprepared for her tail when it came swinging towards him and he cried out in pain as the spikes grazed his shoulder before he could completely get out of the way.

(We'll... see. *evil laughter*)

Otulissa shrieked, feeling a stone embedding in her foot. She dove for Alistair's throat again, and felt the venom rushing to her fangs. The type of venom she had was even more deadly than a black mamba's to a human, a single dose being more than enough to kill 3 dragons. But because she rarely used it, it was much more potent, and made it even more deadly. To make things worse, its only antidote was hyacinth. She bit down, letting it stream into Alistair's bloodstream.

Camilla again flinched out of the way, not out of fear or cowardliness, but so that any blow that Finny placed either missed or didn't hit as hard as intended as part of the impact was absorbed by her moving backwards. The bright blue flame surrounded them for a moment, heating up the air with a loud popping sound before vanishing into thin air without burning either of them. Though it didn't burn, Camilla used it as a distraction to unbalance Finny when she kicked her foot out and gave her a hard shove towards the ground, narrowly avoiding her claws as they whizzed through the air.

Alistair froze for a second as he felt the venom sliding into his veins. It felt cold and foreign, unnatural in his own system. But not only was it uncomfortable, it was excruciatingly painful and nearly paralizing. He felt his limbs collapse beneath him and he crumpled into a spasming heap under Otulissa's fangs, hardly able to control his movements anymore. His mind went black, then spun with the colors of the rising sun around them. He thrashed violently, his claws flailing with lightning speed to try and ease the pain, scarcely aware of what was even going on around him anymore.

Finny growled, fighting the urge to flinch as she felt a large bruise well up on her leg where Camilla's leg hit. While Camilla appeared to be focused on Finny, Tisep came around from a boulder, diving and gripping her claws around Camillas neck and flapping her wings to increase the damage.

Otulissa flinched as his claws tore several cuts along her legs and shoulders, and she quickly stepped back. As she watched Alistar convulse and spasm, a dark smirk spread across her face as her eyes darkened. Her venom was loaded with neurotoxins, and once they were spread throughout his body, it would only take a few hours for him to go into a coma. After he went into a coma, he would be beyond the point of receiving the hyacinth, and would almost surely die.

(I hope the venom's effects are okay, if not I can change it, I don't want to interfere with any plans you have.)

The moment she was able, Tanis threw her wings out to their full extension to try and slow herself down enough. The strain on her joints and muscles was so great, and so painful that she cried out loudly in pain as she began to slow down. She knew she wouldn't be able to stop herself completely before impact, but she could try and steer herself towards a spot that would be the least painful to land on. It was just her luck that a shallow stream trickled through the forest below, and emptied into the small lake where Caronia collected their water. She barely had enough time to aim herself towards the water before with a loud, visible splash, she disappeared below the surface.

Droll watched Tanis go under in the stream and jumped down from the tree he was perched in. He slowly approached the water, ready for if she tried to jump out at him.

Adeline's reaction was much more subtle then Silv's and she retreated into the bushes with only an annoyed hiss as they rolled to a stop not far from where she had been previously standing. Both warriors were stunned, obviously, after having plummeted to the ground from several hundred feet without having a chance to slow themselves before impact. Jasper struggled to his feet after about ten seconds of laying still, he tested his right front leg and found that putting any pressure on it was extremely painful. The small bones in his foot shifted and ground against one another, indicating that it had been broken in the fall.

Maggie was a few seconds slower to recover then Jasper, and had to lean up against a tree to stand for the first while. She was sore all over, everything hurt. It felt like someone was stabbing her with thousands of tiny claws all across her body. Her vision swam and the forest seemed to tip upsidedown a few times, sending her staggering off to the side and nearly falling again before temporarily regaining her balance. Nothing appeared to be broken, but she had definately hit her head somewhere on the way down.

As the tree branches whipped at her face, body and outstretched arms, it was all Frill could do to keep her wings unfurled enough to slow her landing to a reasonably safe speed. Although that thought died quickly... She folded her wings and dropped like a rock, the sprawled form of Maggie and her target Jasper below. Their last meeting's scenario was playing out again, but instead of her being the rabbit it was him, and she fell on him like a sack of potatoes... Butt kickin' potatoes.

____

Silv's brow was raised in amusement as he watched the two of them rise from their rather crumpled landing.

__

Volund, dripping wet with the blood of his meal, raised his head. What was he hearing?
It was echoing from the other side of the mountain, roaring.. But not the usual yowls. Something was up, and taking off towards the noise, he planned on finding out.

Droll watched Tanis go under in the stream and jumped down from the tree he was perched in. He slowly approached the water, ready for if she tried to jump out at him.

Tanis broke the surface coughing and sputtering about a quarter of the way around the lake from where Droll was standing. Her legs and wings slapped clumsily at the surface of the water as she fought to keep herself afloat. I hate getting wet! I hate water! She cursed in her head, while awkwardly making her way to the shore. It was rather obvious that she was not only a terrible swimmer, but wasn't fond of it either. Once she was able to stand, she vomited up a mouthful of river water and spat it onto the bank, still coughing in order to clear her lungs.

Camilla snarled furiously and spread her wings quickly to fly while twisting violently to try and prevent Tisep from getting a good hold on her neck. Once in the air, away from Finny she rolled sharply upside down and shook her entire body in attempted to dislodge her attacker. In the meantime, the second battle patrol had finally arrived. Mayella came screeching into the ground and bowled into Finny without wasting time on a fancy battle move. It wasn't pretty, but it got the Caronian warrior's attention off Camilla.
