The Fraggles

When mine hatch, I'll put a piece of paper in the brooder between the heat source and the food dish and will sprinkle a little sand, chick grit and feed on it. Then I give them a separate bowl of chick grit all on day one. Generally around day three I'll introduce them to meal worms. Just what I do, there are many other approaches.

That’s fair. Once I gain more confidence with chickens further down the road I may do something similar but for now....

Goose and Beaker aren’t often held, so I took them out for cuddle time. Unfortunately because of Beaker’s obsession with Princess Laya, I had to take her out too. Soon as I took that picture I noticed Goose’s poopy butt. Time to get the warm Q-tips! The girls are getting bigger every day and I have expanded their brooder as large as it can go. Their favorite pastimes include chasing each other and roosting on arms/shoulders. Should probably make them a roost!

Got some more pics of Goose... eating her poop off her butt. Princess Laya is next to her, and Beaker discovered her reflection! As I typed, someone on my shoulder decided to eat my freckles. Not sure who, but it was adorable all the same :love

Have also made some more journal spreads, mostly about composting.

I have had some that acted like twins or even triplets. Always with each other I can't tell you what is going on in their heads. So far I've had a couple pairs of girls. One triple of girls and curently have a pair of boys that hang together.

I can see these chicks of yours are going to lack nothing least of all love! Your gonna be a good chicken mama. And if you aren't careful you may become a crazy chicken lady way way way before your time :D

It's easy to tell when someone has gone down that path... Especially when they buy a bator capable of 380 eggs.
