The Fraggles

I have had some that acted like twins or even triplets. Always with each other I can't tell you what is going on in their heads. So far I've had a couple pairs of girls. One triple of girls and curently have a pair of boys that hang together.

I can see these chicks of yours are going to lack nothing least of all love! Your gonna be a good chicken mama. And if you aren't careful you may become a crazy chicken lady way way way before your time :D
It’s funny— Beaker absolutely MUST be in Laya’s vicinity, but Laya could give a rat’s
ass
about Beaker. Laya is the only one who’s totally fine being all by herself when being held. Of course, we never take them out one at a time, but nonetheless she’s very quiet even if unable to see her flock. Instead of screaming for them, she just jumps off of my shoulder and right back into the brooder. Whenever I take Laya out the girls usually scream for her as well. They all love her, but Beaker gets anxious while she’s being held if she’s not with Laya. It’s pretty adorable. She’s like the quiet, lovable leader of them all. She definitely pecks everyone once in a while, but she almost never peeps to them. She’s like “I’m the boss, I don’t need to speak to you.” except not totally in a snooty way? I’m not sure, it’s definitely fascinating.

Also thank you for the compliment! I’m afraid Ive already become a crazy chicken lady... better than a crazy cat lady at least haha! Currently, all 3 gals are now asleep under my jacket. Beaker is pressed up right next to Laya. Once again, Laya is a rather benevolent leader and enjoys the snuggles. Perhaps she’ll get more stern when they’re older.

sorry if y’all can’t read my handwriting. anything else I need to add? I am planning on developing a chicken first aid kit just in case. also need advice on whether i should buy layer or all flock with choice oyster. Personally I want to do all flock so they can supplement themselves however they need/choose to... but advice would be helpful.

If you have a rooster it should be all flock. Ever since Jabber joined us I've used all flock with oyster shell. I worry all the time that the girls are not getting enough calcium. The oyster shell just doesn't seem to go away very fast. Perhaps I worry too much but I'm looking forward to going back to layer.
