Very cute pictures @Alice28 . It is amazing how those animals will become such a part of the family.
This little guy is doing well. He is starting to bark at the cats; they just sit and look at him. He has a cute little growl...

Not getting much done in the house though. He can't go unsupervised at all. I ran upstairs to get my phone and by the time I got back he had gone into the mudroom - probably looking for me - and hauled the rug back into the living room and was happily dragging it around the room. I need to clean the carpet so by this weekend we should have the dog fence upgraded to puppy proof, and he can be outside without supervision. Then I can get a bunch of stuff done.

Check out Ashley's story on the Sioux Falls, South Dakota news station, KELO. Ashley is my great-niece - my sister Linda's granddaughter. A fund was set up for Ashley a little over 24 hours ago. They've already raised more than $13,000 and donations are still coming in. They've also been selling Team Ashley T-shirts and they're going so fast I'm just hoping I got my order in on time. My faith in mankind has been restored after all of this - these people didn't sit around saying, "Gosh I wish I could help". They just got busy and did it!

We'd sure appreciate any and all prayers for Ashley and her mom and dad. (Mom is my niece Jenna and Dad is her hubby, Chad.) I'm also concerned about Linda, of course. I just cancelled my order for Red Golden Pheasants from this other BYC user. Something just didn't feel right about the whole transaction. I mean, let's be real here. If I ask for a picture of the pair, I really want the picture. I don't need an image of the coop they are in. I want to see the pair so I know what I'm buying. He didn't even offer and when I asked, he just said he didn't have one.

Most other people I have purchased birds from either have pictures on hand or are willing to take pictures when they have a chance.

That and who sells a pair of Red Golden Pheasants for such a low price? I understand that some people low-ball themselves, but he also mentioned other people who possibly have birds available but I couldn't find them online or through Facebook. I even searched through his older posts and he's done this before for other users in other regions of the country. How the heck does he know of these people and why won't he post links to their information? I've seen no reviews of his birds, but honestly, I didn't want to risk it. If I want these birds, it'll have to be local.

Sometimes, I have to just trust my gut and work my way around these sorts of things. It kinda sucks but maybe I'll be able to find them locally. Someone just said they have a hen. We'll see if I can get it at a reasonable price.
