The Front Porch Swing

Whoa.....what did I miss? Tin Foil in nesting boxes? I went back and reread earlier post I still didn't see anything. But I'm guessing someone was not being so nice.

Just out of curiosity I went back a week and a half and counted the number of people that have posted to this thread and there was a total of 27 different individuals. Okay so I'm a little weird but I like numbers. I count EVERYTHING!

It's MOVING day!  Yep, I know there are still some alterations to be made on the coop, and we're getting to them.  The vent will go in today.  The holes in the soffit will be drilled and covered today too.  But those are things we can do with the chickens out there, and that's what we're going to do.  The second window will have to wait a week or so.because that will involve changing the framing to support it.  I'm so excited!  We're on our way out this morning to pick up the extra litter we seemed to have forgotten, and as soon as that's down out the little boogers go!

This isn't an "April Fool"? Congratulations! Over for now, you rub that IcyHot in for Ken...he deserves it for the coop, and for the comment about trying to change the color of the sky.

Take a look at this, then tell me if practical jokes are where we need to be investing our resources ...

Exactly. Heart breaking to see some of those "bedrooms", isn't it?
My chickens would shred the foil and eat it!

If a bunch of newbies try this, next week the emergencies forum will be full of 'my chicken is sick! Some body PLEASE help my baby! ! !' posts.

NOT funny

I agree!

It's in the 70s here today and, though I cannot get out and enjoy it right now, I can smell the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine!!! Isn't God great?

Spring has sprung and the birds are singing their fool heads off and the chickens are having a ball.

Side note: For those not following the simulated natural nest incubation, I candled last night and nearly the whole clutch shows normal chick development and air cell enlargement! The method works! I was just using nonviable eggs in the other nests and now that I have good eggs, they are developing per normal. Isn't that great? God be praised!

Ugh. April Fool's Day. I was just about to go line my nesting boxes with tin foil before it hit me. I so totally hate practical jokes. How does anybody have time or energy for that?

Leslie, I ovated him and shared it on FB. Kuntrygirl explained that it was an April Fool's joke and told me to delete it from FB.

Gullible yes, trusting, yes but I don't expect people to lie to me. ha
My babies are great. Feathering out great. Since I extended the brooder to 80" they run and run. Scream when the FOOD lady comes in. I'm trying to at least stroke them daily to get them use to me. AJ wanted to know if I was going to name them and I said "Some". Since I wasn't supposed to get any roosters that might be a problem. They don't want to hear crowing in early am. But how am I suppose to raise Red sex links to sell if I don't have one. I have at least 2-3 in this batch and the 25 I'm getting next month is standard run from Sandhills.

Ok I may be asked to leave the porch.... but Those bedrooms Looked for the most part neat and clean and organized. Floors were clean of trash and scattered about objects. The only one that disturbs me is the one in Argentina.

We cannott compare these with Western standards. Not everyone has what we call a comfortable bed. Not everyone has Toys. Bedrooms are for sleeping.... and in many places the light goes out when the sun goes down.

We need to invest our resources here in the US.

Practical Jokes aside humor is VERY important in all societies.
