For the most part I agree. The one that disturbs me was Scotland. Skull and crossbones, satanish stuff. And one of the poorest had books and books. Loved it.

That's the beauty of the porch...it's a community, not a cult.

I tend to think a person should spend resources as the Holy Spirit leads them and I see those people in other lands as neighbors....if any of my money helps my neighbor have food, shelter, medicine and a safe place to sleep, I'll give it...it's not really my money but has been given to me by God and is to be used for His purposes. I'm inclined to spend money locally first because I don't have much to give, but if I had millions, I'd spread it out to include helping the poorest individuals in every country I could. I don't care what our government spends THEIR money on...it's none of my concern, I have to answer for my own actions and that's enough to keep track of.

You are right....some folks would look at those bedrooms and be appalled, but I grew up in a 2 room log cabin, sleeping on a bed made with logs, right next to my sister. I could reach out and touch my parent's bed and my brother slept on the bunk bed above us girls. We had cardboard on the floors and all my clothing fit into a cardboard box under the bed. I didn't feel deprived, our house was clean, we had food, shelter and enough clothing and if someone would have said we were needy I'd have been looking around for who they were talking about!

I care more about those kids getting fresh water, food, medical care, and safety from harm....the children of the world are the most preyed upon members of society for use in the sex trade and that is the most horrible injustice of all for these children.

This is my Showgirl rooster, I just put him with the hens recently and decided to candle the eggs under a Paint Silkie. Just 6 of them.
RATZ they were all cold for some reason, she is a BAD girl!
I opened them after I knew they weren't moving...there was a Black SG and a black Silkie.
The others were too new to tell, [another hen laid with her]
I was really only curious to see how fertile he was and he is fine, the darn hen screwed up.
Breaks my heart every time a chick dies in the shell. Poor little guy!

I just don't practical jokes are a healthy kind of humor. It really rubs me wrong. I think I've made my position clear on other forms of humor, though. I'm not anti-humor. I'm anti cruelty & destruction & torture & deliberately misleading people with something potentially hazardous. Especially dressed up as "humor" where the victim is supposed to participate in and then laugh at getting victimized.

No, the tin foil joke didn't damage me ... I caught on quickly enough. But it did serve as a reminder of my feelings on this topic.

I've lived in places where the housing was much like some of those photos ... no running water or electricity, no bed. I agree, it is very possible to have a high-qulaity life in those settings. But I do hope we're not missing the point.

The one that offended me most was the one from the USA. For personal reasons. I've known too many "boys" that can classify every object they encounter in their lives, including other humans, as Toy, Target, or Trophy ... or some sequence of all three.

Spring has sprung and the birds are singing their fool heads off and the chickens are having a ball.

Side note: For those not following the simulated natural nest incubation, I candled last night and nearly the whole clutch shows normal chick development and air cell enlargement! The method works! I was just using nonviable eggs in the other nests and now that I have good eggs, they are developing per normal. Isn't that great? God be praised!

I'm so glad you stuck with it. And the video of your fat and ADORABLE meaties with their little broody-simulator cave is also very uplifting.

I really do love little meaty chicks. For some reason they really get me.

Really? That one looked like a dream bedroom for boys! My boys would have loved to have a bedroom like that.

We are very pro hunting, though I wouldn't be letting the boys keep guns in their bedrooms and such, as there is a place for guns and it's not in boys' bedrooms.

For the most part, the more education a boy has with firearms the least likely they will have accidents or point one in anger, IMO. My boys were mainly trained on bowhunting and have never really committed to hunting deer with a gun, but were turkey, deer and squirrel hunting with good success with a gun by the time they were 7 yrs old.

It's a cultural thing and especially in Kentucky and WV mountain regions.

I agree with the mean nature of pranks....never been a fan and never allowed my boys to participate in such. First, they involve a lie and that's a big no-no with my God and with me. Second, they usually involve someone looking like a fool and feeling bad and that's also nothing I want to encourage in my life...not intentionally.
