I have looked at Great Pyr pups two different times but never got one. To me the parents usually look... not built good at all. Maybe that's how they all are...?

I've never seen a GP that didn't look good. How so not built good?

That's someone whose starving their dog....I've never seen a GP with bony hips! They tend to get a little obese if you let them.

That's why I have passed on the pups. The parents just look bad.

...I saw a nice looking male the other day. I may run down the owner and check about pups with them.

I love my Bennie......Ben actually.....He lays in the shade in the summer with the chickens.
He runs them off the the porch when they go after his food though....lol....he doesn't share.

I'd say bad breeding. All the GPs I've seen were well fleshed in the hips and they are not a breed known for hip dysplasia that I know of. At least, I've never heard of anyone's having it. Lot's of folks in this state have GPs for the sheep and goats. They all look like small Polar Bears to me...cute, cute, cute!

I think I will try to get one from the Amish or Mennonites. There's a real good chance that one from them will be out of great working stock because they are not like us, don't have many useless animals laying around. They don't have many "pets".

I saw the craziest thing today. One of the roos walked by a pullet and I suppose gave her a glance. The pullet started stomping both feet real fast like a little kid that was excited about something, the she squated for him. Anybody else ever seen that? Weird!
