The Front Porch Swing

Holy smokes those are huge!!

Recipe please...

LOL.... whats a recipe?

Pack of hash browns, around a dozen eggs, sausage, small container of heavy whipping cream, chopped bell pepper, salt and pepper.... Cook in crockpot on low for about 4 hours. You can put some shredded cheese in it too, but my husband won't eat cheese so we add it at the table.

I would just make sure they have plenty of oyster shell available.  One thing I noticed this winter is that even though my oyster shell dispenser was full of oyster shell, it had been rained on (it is out in their run) and then it got frozen for several days or a week or more.  So there was plenty of oyster shell but they couldn't get any of it.  Now, if it gets cold I make sure its not all frozen together.

Thanks, LB ! I never really thought of this as being caused by a potential deficiency in their diet. Perhaps I'll add some free choice oyster shells !

Fancy seeing you here!

Well, a recipe is what I have to use until I've made it so often that I don't need a recipe!! Lol
That sounds delicious.
Do you scramble the eggs first or just crack em? Yea no cheese for me either
Thanks sounds like a Saturday dinner for sure!

Still bored? I'm not-got tons of school stuff to do but I'm tired. Waiting a bit longer to hit the hay because last night I fell asleep about this time (my 8 yr old barely got in bed before I did lol) and I was up at one, done sleeping for the night. Ugh don't want to do that again
Yeah I am :p Oh okay.

I cracked the eggs in a bowl and scrambled them then mixed them with the heavy whipping cream. Careful or you will cause the cream to actually whip up... I sprayed the crock and then layered the hash browns in the bottom. Poured in the egg and cream. I browned the sausage and added it, threw in some green peppers and folded both into the hashbrowns and eggs. Put the lid on and cooked... I started mine at lunchtime, and by the time we ate it was a little brown around the edges. Next time I'm going to wait until around 2 to start it......

Usually it's just the reproductive cycle working out the kinks and not a deficiency if you are feeding a regular layer ration. Weird eggs happen from time to time but they usually happen on either side of a laying cycle, either going off of one or working up to one...we are all working up to peak laying for the year and by next month all chickens who are laying well, should be laying.

My sister's dog did not make it. The whole family is devastated, even the Vets were crying. There has been a lot of loss in the family over the past year. Please now send prayers that help him guide them through. Thank you all for your support.

I am on page 96, saying this to mark my place. Life can be so amazing and so incredibly sad at the same.
