O Lindz, she is adorable!! What is her name?
Think I found the right place and im gonna lay out a hammock since I got no porch but plenty of palm trees. Got my suntea brewing on the rooftop and im all set. Thanks Bee for the invite. For those I havent met yet im in a city called Tajoura about 8 miles outside of Tripoli, Libya. Tajoura was named after a African queen named Ura apparently she lost a valuable crown in this area of which "Taj" means crown so its the crown of Ura. We are also known for one of the oldests mosques, oldest cemetery and oldest lighthouses along the coastline. Im trying to homestead and bring ideas of urban gardening and animal care to people here. I love to use everyday life to educate and hope to help shape future youngsters on animal welfare. I blog about my life here but internet here is a luxary and can go anytime so if I disappear im outta units til the 5th of the month. My mothers family is from the south, Georgia mainly so I hang out there too. Pull up a chair. But since its my bedtime way passed actually, im gonna see you all tomorrow.

Ummm..... Lily I think....
Hi All!! Thought I would stop in and say hey! Came her from Bees "simulated natural nest" thread, in which I have enjoyed thoroughly! I've been doing some back reading and I think I am going to enjoy the front porch very much. I LOVE front porch swings! My most fondest memories are sitting on my grandma's fps, every evening in the summer. I loved the rythymn (sp) of it, listening to the crickets, the neighbors settling in for the evening. Grandma lived on a quiet street in town. We would go catch some lightening bugs, and wait for the ice cream truck to come around. We would hear the little tune of the truck a block or 2 away. We would run in and get our dime out of grandma's jar, and go wait at the curb until he came up our street. Yes, you could get an ice cream cone for .10! The ice cream was just like what Wendy's sells as a frosty, now. He would always give out cheap little trinkets, rings, dracula teeth, wax lips, etc. That's when you could trust people a little more than now-a-days. So I think I will pull up a chair, or if there is room on the swing, settle back with a cup of green tea and honey, and listen to the fascinating stories that all have to share. Oh, and I might sample a little of the banana nut bread! mmmmmm! Next time I will bring some muffins. I don't bake much any more, but I want to contribute!
What's her name? Love the sweet freckles.
That little beauty is our Katiebug. Ken had an event and the separate ladies' luncheon for this always has a theme. The theme that year was hats. So I found this little purple number that I liked. Bug liked it too, so I got her one of her own. We've worn them a lot since then...we even went to dinner, just the two of us, wearing our hats and little white gloves. Looked kinda funny eating that way at the Cowtown Cafe, but we thought we were pretty spiffy! We also wore them to the Cowley Corn Cookout, and we were quite the hit!
I've always said that until my first grandchild was born - it will be 25 years ago in a couple of weeks - I didn't know I could love someone else's child that much.
Welcome! I love your name ohhappychicks! It reminds me of a song by Tim Hughes called happy day. It just gets my feet dancing. Miss jellybean is really good at embedding links in her posts and I don't know how, but maybe she can find this song on YouTube and post it so you can hear. It's one of the best songs!!!
