AHA! I am allergic to M&M's. :'(((( I have narrowed down the asthma attacks to a single incident. The jar of candy on the end table. Finally, I was going crazy trying to find my trigger. I spent the entire day outdoors today and no attack until I grabbed a handful after dinner and it hit me...each time I sat down and grabbed a handful of m&m's (which has been all winter LOL since I got the monster size bags as a gift) I have had trouble breathing right after. Who knew? No more,at least not from these.

Weird, my brother was eating skittles and I noticed a a passable reaction so I have said I must be a foot away from open skittles at all times.

It just hit me yesterday like a brick. So now I will consider a handful of them as attempted murder.

Now you'll have to test other candies to see what ingredient it is that bothers you. I used to babysit for a lady who was allergic to blue dye, so she couldn't eat blue m&ms or use blue markers.

i can see the death certificate.... Death by M&M. Don't think the candy company is going to ask you to do any marketing for them.

just commenting on the M&M thread. It could be the coloring in the shell as well as any preservative they may use.

a key test would be to have homemade chocolate to see if there is any reaction.

Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Red 40 are nasty stuff. The others aren't much better, but those are downright toxic.

I love the Dove milk chocolate bars. Did you have plain M & M's - they also have coconut, almond, peanut, and peanut butter and mint ones. I used to love coconut flakes out of the can but, noticed every time I ate them I got hoarse. Coconut in baked goods never bothered me.

What kind of M&Ms? I learned decades ago that peanut M&Ms give me a pretty instant migraine. I can eat the plain ones and I can eat peanuts but not peanut M&Ms. Never tried M&Ms and peanuts at the same time.

We have a jigsaw puzzle titled "Death by chocolate". Maybe you can take a picture of a mess of M&Ms and have it made into a puzzle for tntchix.
