The "girls" are growing up gorgeous...updated pics 7/12/12...Bought as Ameraucanas...

#7...wow...that one's hard to tell for sure. Could be a girl, but with that patchy feathering pattern it is probably a boy. I'm better at telling for sure with the more common colors. The grey/white/black ones are a lot harder for me to tell for sure until they are older.

After reading the thread on sexing EEs by their combs and compairing it to my "girls", I was guessing that 5 & 9 are definitely roos and that 1 & 6 possibly were roos. So much for them being sexed by the hatchery, or where ever she got them from :(

#10 is another one of those hard ones for me to tell...I'd guess pullet by the size and color of the comb, but it looks a bit patchy in color also. I'd wait to see how it looks in another few weeks.

I am by no means an expert at this...I just guess based on what I have experienced personally, and everything I have read and been told by people on this site. I hope you get some other thoughts on your birds. Illia is a good one for sexing EEs...she helped me when mine were little. =) All in all, you have some very pretty and diversely colored EEs for your flock. =)

Does this mean anything...
I was reading an article on feather sexing, and it made me look at all of my babies' wings.

I have some that look like this...

and ones that look like this...

These pics were taken of two of the youngest (4-6 weeks olds). The difference is even more noticeable in the older babies.
