The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

Pics
Welcome aboard, Cellarat!

Hello, Peeps! Y'all know me, always thinking. I am sending out a box of eggs this morning with a new experiment. I washed out tin cans from making soup last night and inserted the bubble wrapped eggs inside. I am hoping that the cans will protect each egg. I only did three and added them outside of the inside box (make sense?) I realize that it will add weight and therefore add cost to the shipping but if I am ordering six, high-dollar, rare, or expensive, eggs, I would be willing to pay the extra to know my eggs would arrive safely. I will ask the recipient to report here or will do so myself when I hear. Now, to address the vibration issue.................
I like that someone is always thinking outside the box, and trying to build a better mouse trap!

FYI Priority mail (2-3) is not guaranteed. The only mail that is guaranteed is Express.
It most definitely is not. I just got eggs via USPS Priority about 10 days ago. One shipment took 8 days to arrive and the Fast eggs took 4 days. Needless to say I will spend extra to get them delivered Express next time.

There is no use in taking a chance again!

Each egg is wrapped in a piece of bubble wrap. Bottom piece taped, air cell up and top left open. Popped popcorn alllllll around- the bottom, then the eggs, in between the eggs and on top. I figured this would allow some airflow and the packing can be fed to her chickens. hehe

A friend from Redding CA packed Duck eggs using pop corn! Her husband ships fragile parts and packs like this for them.

The eggs arrived in great shape too!

Wisher,
Your package is on the way. I was able to get one more duck egg for you. I guess the girls were feeling sorry for me watching me wondering around the property aimlessly trying to find their hiding place. One of them laid an egg in the coop! I'm sure they spent the last couple days chuckling at me! Enclosed will be 4 duck eggs and 4 turkey eggs. I packaged them in a modified way similar to yours and another one on here where I saw they used saw dust. So when you open the box/boxes please do not do it over carpet. Wouldn't want you cussing me for sawdust stuck in the carpet. I hope they make it to you in great shape! Sent you a PM with the tracking #.
