The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

I just had 11 sets of eggs shipped top me in socal - from new hamphire to as close as sacramento.

Most got here in 2 days, a few 3 days using prioity.

186 eggs with 6 broken.

Did hangtown farms ship some to you?

Now you need to get them to the Philippines!

Hi all! I have sort of been lurking on this thread and just reading and trying to catch up when I can. I am having eggs shipped to be from 3 different BYC'ers, 3 different states next week for the Easter Hatch-a-long. Now - what I'm wondering is - how do I figure out how to have them shipped?? Express or Priority? One of the seller's lives in the same state as me - although on the opposite side. Her's I am not so concerned about. The other two are further away. Is there a place on USPS website that I can go to input my zip and the shipper's zip and see ship times??
Priority is 2 to 3 days with 10 guaranteed. Express is overnight with 3 days guaranteed.

Use Click and ship but they do not show times just cost.

Well shoot. I'm pretty sure that at least with one shipper I said Priority... because I did see that we were in the 2-day range so I figured that was safe. But from reading this thread I am realizing it is obviously NOT safe to assume the length of time it might take. TEN days guaranteed is a far cry from 2-3days.

Yeah 2 where mine.
Going back to my single box method. Like I usually do. Think it works better with my Priority B box. I had put the Priority A box in the middle.
With padding around.
With Oz's it may of been the 2 small Silver ameraucana x crele penedesenca crosses that I had on the side to help fill the box.

At least the sealed pouches should keep it from being messy.
Oh well back to single box and lots of 3/4" bubble

That is good to know!

I am shipping a package this weekend with regional boxes so I may use the single box and some foam as padding.

Okay I have one more question. I was planning to have my local PO call me when my eggs arrived so that I could just go pick them up since i'm home during the day. Is this a better plan than having them sit on my mail carriers truck and wait for them to be delivered to my house? Do most people have their eggs delivered to their door?
