Starting in June I will be having some left over after orders go out so can start sending them out to folks that want him mixed with regular laying hens. This week I was stretched to the max and just got another order to go to Puerto Rico for our pure Legacy eggs. But Stormy gets a break from the bigger hens starting the first of June then we move another rooster in with those hens, for 2 months then Stormy goes back in and the other rooster gets the regular girls. Mixed can weigh between 9 and 12 pounds. once fully grown. Pure can weigh up to 18 pounds. Great for meat birds if that is what you want.
My brahmas and that legacy would be like roseanne and john goodman
Are Legacy chickens a type of Game Bird? Do you have some literature on them. He is a good looking monster.
Also, would one of those rooster keep a Pee Hen from getting into a chicken run and eating the feed?
Stormy saw our chicks today for the first time, and he stood there so proud watching them and calling all the hens to come and look. I don't almost dare to tell him they are not his babies, however I am sure like his dad he will bring up any chick and teach them what they need to know. He called them all to the feeder today and they listened. There may be a cage between them but he still is being very manly and trying to be a dad to them.
Is the pee hen wild? If so it would drive it away. However it may find it a threat and kill it to. We have seen ours take down hawks. I saw Stormy the other day go after a crow that had raided a birds nest.
