Aww tyty I give him tons of name I haven't set on a current one. Sometimes I call him bunziboo. Then I call it hay hay. Cuz it loves to eat the hays. I really love him. It's like when I look at him one side he will look brown and then the other side will be whitish brown. Well..they sleep with their eyes open right? Funny. I wanted a week old guinea pig but they didn't have any. So I picked him out. He's still cute.
Yes they sleep with their eyes open. Mine also sleeps on his side, they WILL scare you and act like they are dead.

You have been warned...

Aw! :3 Hopefully he'll find a name that fits!

X2! My piggies scare me every time.

Aw!! He's so cute! Does he have a name? :D

If he's a male, he'll probably do better on his own. If you got a female friend, he would most likely make her pregnant, then you'd have a bunch of baby guinea pigs and their mother's health to worry about. If you got a male friend, they might start fighting (like my boys did), which could cost you trips to the vet and separate housing. So, I think, as long as you're giving him attention, he'll be fine on his own. :3

True. My first two boys got along, but they had a chicken coop and a run-worth of space to share, and they still had their small spats over dominance. Luckily it was never more than a missing patch of fur. My current boys are in separate indoor cages, and socialize through the bars, but don't have them out at the same time or they start rumble strutting.

I'm glad I'm not the only one they do this to!

My boys had pretty much the same thing, except they weren't as friendly towards each other.
Once, they actually got into a fight and Patches, my white/black/peach male, attacked Scruff, my white male. Scruff had a chunk of skin ripped off his back. Although we cleaned it, it still got infected and wouldn't close up. We eventually had to take him to the vets; he got the wound flushed and some antibiotics to take daily. After then, we never kept them together.
Patches died a few years after that accident, but Scruff is still going strong. He lives with my female, Cupcake. He's too old to produce any babies, so that's the only reason they're aloud to be together. :p (He used to live with two females, Cupcake and Precious, but Precious died recently. :( )

My guinea pig, Hans, has been sick for a while. He started out with bloody urine and took medicine for urinary problems. Now, he squeaks in pain when he passes a cecotrope (the "poop" that is half-digested and they eat it to finish digesting the B-vitamins from their food). He is losing weight and craves lettuce like crazy! Anybody had a similar situation or a suggestion of what to do for him?

Oh no! I'm so sorry. :( :hugs I wish I knew what to do, but I've never experienced that with any of my guinea pigs.
I'd give him all of his favourite foods, to try and keep his weight up, and maybe take him to the vet, if you can? They might know what's up.

I have not had to deal with a similar problem with mine, but if it was me, I would go to the vet. It sounds like you already did. I would look around the web to see if you can find anthing similar to it, but for the most part, those people are not vets, so some may not be true.

Hans is getting better!

He's now getting his medicine orally via syringe every 3-4 hours.

I learned that Hans is a stubborn pig. His medicine was dissolved in his water bottle. But Hans WILL NOT TOUCH that darn water bottle if he knows the medicine is in it. His stubbornness runs so deep, he stopped drinking and then stopped eating. Since taking his medicine via syringe. He can be coaxed into eating diced veggies. And of course, "human food" always tastes better! Seen here is him eating our lettuce left from tacos yesterday. But, hey, at least he's eating! And he'll drink as long as it's fresh, medicine-free water!
