Came after me. I'd say early 2000s. I played baseball till 1999 and we never had anything like that. I faded away in HS, bad grades, bad behavior. I do good in college, graduate next term and GPA is sitting pretty good. Seems like every controversy in schools is reduced anymore. Even the most minor error can cost the schools 100 grand if the parents want to be jerks. Lawsuits are what is ruining this country. I had a girlfriend who worked at Olive Garden, a guy called up wanting to order "pizza sticks," Mind you this is Olive Garden. She said they didn't serve those and asked if he meant bread sticks? He freaked out, irate. She said he was wrong.. he sued, said he was "humiliated". Won(Olive Garden settled). Unbelievable.

Blows my mind. I guess I understand the emotion of shame. I could never sue a restaurant for a years worth of pay because the food didn't taste good. The sad part is people win those more times than not. Sets a bad precedent.

They did. and you just refuse to look at the evidence...You saw something and said, That's good enough for me.

Obama has said, definitively, for several years, that he was born in Kenya, Now, he's not. Was he or wasn't he? Why did he change his story? Is it a mandate, a fine or a tax? Now that it's a tax, is it only going to affect families making over $250,000? The fact is, you really don't care that he's a conman of the highest degree.
As if the rest of the politicians aren't?! (except Ron Paul)

You see, one of the aspects of a good healthcare law would be that in a lawsuit, across the board, loser pays the cost. It would eliminate most of these nuisance lawsuits, which are happening these days, putting many lawyers and scam artists out of business...What's not to love about that?

He had a newsletter that was sent out every month for 20 + years under his name. He actually wrote a few of them him self but for the most part it just had his name on it.They found 3 or 4 that had a racist over tone to them, assumed to be wrote by the same man. Real shocking for something wrote in the rural south...
The newsletters that weren't even written by Ron Paul produced in the 80s spoke about class warfare, and a black vs white mentality in the foreseeable future.

Legit comment. My issue is that people who are wronged by healthcare can not provide the same lawyers that HMOs or insurance can provide.

I gotta go fishin' I'll be back later tonight

Insurance and large businesses settle on cost not right or wrong. Say you did nothing wrong at Olive Garden you fight and win and win big you still have to collect from a customer who has nothing. Then pay your lawyer and possible pay higher insurance rates. Trial lawyers know this and know which customers are more attractive in this regard. People that sue should have to post a bond IMO.

I would like to add that Ron Paul is about the kindest and most ethical politician I've ever seen. He even delivered a baby for free for a bi racial couple in the early 70s because they were turned away by other doctors.

He also understands the injustice experienced by minorities in our "justice" system.
