If we both have the same job and the same pay and you're married with 4 kids you will pay less in taxes then I will if I'm single and no kids If all else is equal.

By finding the use of the commerce clause in obamacare and its arguments unconstitutional, Roberts has become the first justice in 100 years to put the brakes on congress using the commerce clause to levy all forms of taxes and regulation upon us citizens by his vote and declaration of the use of the commerce clause. Obamacare now gets thrust back into the spotlight attached to the TAX stigma that will follow it to election day, the middle class gets to mull over the largest tax increase it has ever seen and EVERYONE from rich to poor gets to pay their share as the "Tax" will affect all....at least that's how it sits as of now. Like I said, it can be good or bad depending on how you view the role of government in your life.

But does the tax effect all ? I think your income has to be 3 times the poverty level. So it would seem that the same ones that are costing the health system the most will be going on as usual.
Do you think he ruled as he did to defeat Obama ?

Try this one on for size... equal protection under the law... we have over 12 million illegals that are not entitled to this new law and as I see it they are not required to pay it.

i see so many potential problems here it is mind boggling.

The new name is" H I T" Health Insurance Tax

Dunno, way I see it, politicians will do what they do to save their jobs so predicting things is a crapshoot haha
 
It was not written as a "tax," not argued as a "tax," and was said to definitely NOT be a "tax." I believe the Court should have ruled on what was written.

What does that have to do with how it's defined as a tax? If my interaction is solely with an insurance company, albiet, forced by a govt. edict, how is it a tax. A tax must run through the govt. colletion system and be redistributed, as needed. If I don't pay the premium. I get penalized, unless of course, I can't pay, and then, I get rewarded, just like 50% of the people in this country who pay no income tax, and a huge number of those, who actually get free money for doing nothing more than throwing litters.

Now, if we sent everyone to jail who couldn't or refused to pay the tax, then, it would be a tax.

Or it must be based on usage, as in roads, gas, alcohol, tobacco, sales, etc,

We only need to look at "dedicated" taxes, such as SS or Medicaid to realize that they all become giant ponzi schemes with politicians and lobbyists skimming the cream for self agrandizment. Why is this one going to be any different? Have politicians suddenly developed a moral compass whent it comes to worn out knees and hips?
 
If we could get our leaders to cut the waste and stop spending on every other country in the world then we could all enjoy a nice check to cover insurance haha...wishful thinking I know LOL

The law was argued as a tax in the written briefs. Just because it didn't make it to the media doesn't mean it's not there.
