The Health Care Law.

Well its really more like, everyone pays into the pot (now as a tax, presumably) as a security blanket. If you get sick, the care is there. If you are not, you pay in until its your turn to use it. Everyone will need health care at some point or another. At least, thats how its done in most of the other industrialized societies that already have health care. You have to have the young and healthy pay in when they don't need it, or it just won't work. Then when the young become old or sick, other young and healthy will continue to work and pay in and so on.
How is someone who is already recieving $3-4,000 a year in Earned Income Tax Credit for downloading burdens on society going to pay a tax on healthcare...They aren't..They will recieve another credit for all the healthcare they need.

A reasonably healthy person can purchase a decent health care plan for $100-$200 a month. If less costly coverage is needed, catastrophic coverage is available (high deductible) For those who are unhealthy/uninsurable...well I think that might be a focus of health care reform, but I am not sure. I didn't read the bill, don't plan to..I thought that aspect would be covered by the "public option," the only part of health care reform that I sort of supported.

I agree, because my friend for example, has pc skills such a community would need, and that could be his work, while the more physically able do things like build, grow food, etc. Someone who is older and less physically able to garden, might make a good companion also for my disabled friend who needs someone with him at all times as he cannot even lift his hand more than an inch or two and if he falls over he could asphixiate.
And child care! If the poor didn't have to worry so much about how to care for their children while working, we would see a lot of improvement, not only in work ethics, but in the behavior of children as well.

No of course not. The inhabitants are members of everyday society Royd. The factories around my area all provide great benefits. Many of the poor are already on Medicaid or Famis (child only health care) Those who are employed and can afford health care can take care of it themselves and those who choose to remain uninsured by choice will have to deal with whatever happens with health care reform.
So, what you are saying is that by regionalizing, things are workable. You don't have tons of bureaucracy a thousand miles away that get to determine that dealing with grandma's hacking cough just isn't worth the cost of a week in the hosp.
We are dealing with a National Healthcare Law here, where decisions will be made by people behind desks, whose job is to minimalize costs.

Total property limit use to be $3k not counting your house an your car. You cant own 2 cars though no matter how cheep but you can own one Bently. You can own a $200K home but you cant own any property that you dont live on no matter how cheep. Owning an cheep tractor or fishing boat will also put you over an cut you off.

The way it was anyway... Disability is built to make sure you can never better your self. You have to stay broke or they cut you off an you starve an go under from medical. There use to be a 6 month rule. You could work full time for 6 months before being cut off. Great for anyone that gets better but worthless for people that are still disabled an want to try to better there self.

Well, without getting into whether we know if that person needs welfare or is just doing it for free cash, that is why we need everyone who can paying into it to make it work. Also, they have to be earning income to get the EITC, so most people on welfare probably don't recieve it. http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=134524,00.html

In my job I work closely with Zero to Low income families on a daily basis (have been employed here going on 17 years.) In order for my clients to receive their benefits, they have to report their income to me. If there is a change in their income (either an increase or a decrease) they have 10 days to report it. Almost weekly I find a client that has been working (without reporting it for sometimes a year) and still collecting benefits.

Believe it or not I have had several clients report to me that they had lost their job in order to get an increase in benefits. Problem is they never reported the job to begin with.

If our Government put forth an effort to stop/prosecute the individuals for the fraud we could save Billions.

If you have $1 in earned income you qualify for at least $2 in EITC.

I had a client who was charged with a misdemeanor for not reporting [quickly enough] that her on and off boyfriend had been staying at her home. I'm sure that will help her make it to self sufficiency! (not)

Yes I believe that is part of the solution. Another part is simply looking at the issues in another perspective.
