The Health Care Law.

If people understood what their coverage pays for there would be less complaints. When they find out sentimental value means nothing to an insurance company, or that towing is often a separate coverage, or that physical damage on their own vehicle must be purchased separately and doesn't include mechanical breakdown...i.e. many complaints are invalid from my experience. Just today I had someone tell me that although she has a $500 deductible, the BODY SHOP told her she shouldn't have to pay that deductible (because the deer caused the damage????)

This is so true.... So many people don't take the time to understand what they are paying for and to find out if they need additional coverage. For example, I have higher rates of coiverage for medical for my passengers than the base coverage. This is because my passengers tend to be family and poor, so I want to make sure they can get medical care in case of an injury in an accident while riding in my car. I have uninsured motorist because if I don't and one of the people who thinks having car insurance isn't fair crashes into me, I need that coverage so I don't have any problems with my claim. Folks, you have to make the effort to understand what it is you are buying and what it covers.... It's no use complaining after an accident.

Yeah, Matthew, that's true... but I don't understand your point? Or maybe you didn't understand mine.

If I crash into someone else due to my own error I would like to think I could tell the person that I was sorry and I would pay for it. The guy who crashed into me got out and ran away. I had to wait for the cops to sort out my problem and in the end I paid my $750 deductible. I didn't do anything wrong and I was out $750. Would you rather be the guy who stops and apologizes, pays for the damage, or the guy who gets out and runs away because you hate the government telling you to buy insurance?

How do you relate that to the health care law ?

The connection is obvious to me. Someone has to pay for the uninsured so by mandating all have insurance the politicians are trying to decrease those who are uninsured.

We have a 2,700 page law, which is going to take years to reveal the true depth, and they are now adding 13,000 pages of regulations. Anyone want to explain how this can be a good thing?

Exactley. Right now I pay more for my insurance policy because I carry "uninsured motorist" to cover the people who don't pay for auto insurance and drive anyway. I pay more because they don't want to pay. Not very fair. Be better if they payed and all of the premiums would lesson as the risk is spread around with more people in the pot.

I'm just hopefully optimistic that wanting to ensure Americans have access to health care is a noble pursuit. Its done, found constitutional. There are more important issues to deal with than "repeal Obamacare"

This has nothing to do with health care. It has everything to do with health insurance.

Americans are going to get adequate health care. This bill wanted to force people to get health insurance making sure that insurance companies will have a stable income.

I would expect both to pay for the damages. I don't agree with driving without insurance, but that doesn't mean everyone who drives uninsured is going to run after they get in an accident.
