How is the build going on your beautiful coop? Any new pictures of your young ones?
Hi, daxi! I moved the birds into the new coop a couple of seems ago. I still have a couple of things left to do... like putting on the final coat of paint and putting wire over the Windows. A family medical situation had put everything on hold, but things are much better now. Waiting for the rain to move out so I can finish everything. I'll post some pics when it's finished...

Joey, How big are the chicks now? I have to band mine but now you're getting the rain. We are finally starting to dry out. Sunshine today. The pens are starting to dry out some. With the several days of rain we just had I discovered a roof leak in one of my coops and with all of the sand and mud they have been dragging in the area right below the leak was a real muddy mess. I cleaned out the coop. Now I have to go out and find where the leak is. I have all of my leg bands now I just have to do the banding.

I am sorry to hear about the illness. I will say a prayer and wait for pictures

I hope you find it quickly. Did you say what bands you use?

This is the coop so far. I'll put another coat of paint, then trim the windows with 2" x 2" treated wood to which I'll attach 1" construction wire.

Pics below...

They're growing like weeds. The oldest are 15 weeks old now and going through some serious changes. Between this smothering heat and molting, they don't look too good at the moment. They're at that awkward teenage stage when they shoot up and slim down. For height reference, the blue tub is 16" tall...

Last but not least... the 11 weeks old dynamic duo:

My last male I got from Matt can get any leg band I put on him off. I'll put one on him one day and the next day when I go out it's off.

Quote: The Rose Come is from my Dexter. My other male Junior, I put his eggs in the incubator quite late and they developed but only 4 out of 18 hatched and of them 2 survived. Don't know why they made it to lock-down then quit. I had quite a few blanks too and attribute that to possibly the heat as when I put those eggs in the incubator it was already in the 90's. If you want to do an experiment I tried, Put your RC male with 2 or 3 of your SC females and you should get both RC and SC. There is a breeder who has RC and about every 4 years he puts in some Reese/Mohawk SC in the mix. I tried it and got both RC and SC. I put them in my general population coop and pen but did sell them eventually.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrrVery nice coop and birds even with the cookoo in the nest.
Did you see my four pullets? What do you think?
Here is one of the two males I kept for a guard until his replacement arrives.
