Thanks! The pictures really don't do them justice...can't wait to have the snow melt and see summer touch them instead of cold. They are cold in these pictures lol. But they do have good type...and many exhibition attributes. I don't plan on showing them, however, just raising chicks and having a good home flock.

They do look a bit different in natural lighting. You should post some pics of them when they're outside. It's hard to tell much about them inside a darkened coop. I'd keep an eye on those tail angles... some are a bit high. Mate them to a low tailed male and the chicks should have correct angles. If that's not an option, only breed the females with correct angles. You don't want to wind up with a flock of birds with U-shaped backs. Just my 2c...

Yes. it was a few years ago and most years I get a cockerel from him. I have won class champion at a show that Matt wasn't there otherwise I probably wouldn't have. I think Vickie won show champion with her Silkie. I first met Matt at a show and had been looking for some quality birds. I had gotten some from another breeder and they were nice birds but not quite as nice as Matt's so I sought him out and made an arrangement to get a quad from him at another show. I love the birds. Still working for a show champion. I have some nice birds and hopefully will get some champion chicks.

Oh, so you got a single bird? Later you say a quad, is that 4 more birds? So you have 5 of Matt's birds?

Originally I got one cock and three pullets (4) from Matt and as the years have gone by I have gotten ,usually, a new cockerel most every year from him to put with my birds. All of my birds are descendants of Matt's birds. I sold the other birds I got originally from another breeder a couple of years prior to getting the quad from Matt. Now as the years have gone by I have hatched out hundreds of chicks descended from the quad and the other males I got over the years from Matt.

You have some fantastic stock. People must be lining up to get their hands on some of those beauties. Thanks for taking time to clear up things for me. I'm a little low sometimes.

My birds came from Lloyd Flanagan's stock originally, I believe he got his birds from Arkansas but it was like 35+ years ago. With that said, the actual stock I have came from Montana via a woman named Krebs. She said to me that she got them from Lloyd, and has been breeding them for over 8 years. Mrs. Krebs is NPIP, and raises Bourbon Red Turkeys also. She came highly recommended by an A.P.A. hall of fame member Tony Albritton.

I don't know the actual blood line, "name" for my birds, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Its all in how they look in relation to the standard. I'm kind of in the dark as to how they will look (they are 5 weeks old now), I took it on faith based on a recommendation. It wont be too much longer and Ill have a peek as to what I really have.

Anyways, take care, and good luck with that show stopper boodline you have. Tom
