x 2it would be great if there was a show site with the winners pictures. or maybe every RIR picture. There is no way I can get there but I would like to see the chickens.
Here you go Bob! He is no where near ready for a show but boy I think he has some potential!

Good Morning everyone,
Just wanted to say that it is sort of a dreary day here in Pa. The girls had their scarves around their necks this morning. Gee, they're even calling for snow flurries Friday. When it was so hot this summer it seemed to last forever but now it seems that winter is coming awful fast. lol Just can never be satisfied.
I hope everyone in the colder climates have everything prepared for the cold weather for the guys/gals. lol
I have a couple of things to do yet. If I didn't spend so much time on this silly computer I'd probably have it done.
Wishing all you folks that show the best of luck on the upcoming shows and hopefully you will get some pictures and post them and let us know how everyone does.
Let's keep this thread going. It is a wonderful place to meet up, ask questions, help each other etc
.
Good hearing from you Dan. You know I've always appreciated your input.
Jimmy
Now THAT is what I was expecting when the girl from church was moving and said she had some RIR!!! Beautiful bird. The wonderful dark burgundy and flat tail I love so much. Eggs were my excuse to have them. Still wish I could have them.
Congratulations. I wish I could do that! I'd be so proud.
Now finding someone near me with the real thing is a pipe dream without Bob to help! Was going to get my chickens in spring if I could. Already have layers but wanted these more. Eggs would be a pleasant bonus... a few to eat but wanted to raise some. Will it ever happen?
Don't give up !!!!!!!! There are lots of us that have these and most will help out when the time is right. Where are you located? What are you looking for, chicks or eggs? Bob was a great ambassador but we can't give up because he is no longer available to help us. Right now most folks are looking at there stock to see what they are going to be using for breeding. Be patient, we all went through a dry spell trying to get started out with these wonderful birds. I will put your name on my list, not promising anything but I will sure try to help you either get from me or talk to others for you. Send me a PM with your name, address and phone number. I would let you know when something is available. Now THAT is what I was expecting when the girl from church was moving and said she had some RIR!!! Beautiful bird. Hi all, how are you?
Sorry to crash in on this thread, i wanted to know what you think of my Rir.
Here's some pictures.
He is a young bird so should his black hackles fade out? Are black feathers undesirable?
Roy (the Rir) is excited in this photo normally he wouldn't have such a high tail angle. What angle should there tail be?
