Barry Roberts bird owned by Steve in Georgia I think he is pure Reese line. He is a great bird and should have some great sons and daughters to look at this year when they mature.

Jim has some great pictures on his site of his strains. my picture trail has many pictures on my web site from the past.

Its hard to line them all up but there are some very nice R I Reds out there today and getting better each year because people on this thread are working hard to get them that way. Be patient out there're next year is going to be twice as big as this year was. Even for Rose Combs. Contact Gary Underwood and get on his list. He at least is willing to share his birds with the beginners and they are nice reds

My Fogle flock are around fourteen weeks now. The shipped chicks are a couple weeks older than the hatched egg chicks. A lot of molting going on but the new feathers coming in are really dark! Some of them are showing nice broad backs from stem to stern. It is looking like seven females and fifteen males. Still way too soon for me to choose breeders from the males but those seven females will give me a great starter flock.

I took a few pictures to show some of them hanging about the yard. Nice calm birds. It's a pleasure to walk among them.

I laugh at this one. They don't seem to get the irony that their favorite place to rest is ontop of the chopping blocks next to the ax. Hah!

hahahha, That's good.

This is Tanker at about 32 weeks old. He is an Underwood line RC hatched from shipped eggs from Jim Heinz

Tanker and one of his hens from the same hatch. She is an Underwood line SC.

They free-range and are a bit faded but not nearly as much as I thought they would be. They are all managing our summer heat without a problem so far.
