The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Some K's from my project line.

They remain a work in progress.

I just separated my HRIR males. They are now in the bachelor coop and pen. Now I have to separate the RIW males into their bachelor coop and pen. They are getting to be pretty good size and just started crowing.

I did very well at the Inverness show. I won Champion American with one of my Heritage Rhode Island Red cockerels and a pullet and also Reserve American with my cockerel. All of my birds did very well at the show.

Asked a while back with no takers, but now that we are a bit closer I'll ask again....Any one have a pair or trio of RC Reds they would be willing to part with traveling to the Ohio Nationals? We could make due with an extra RC cock/cockerel from Horstman's line since we have a hen from him. Shoot me a PM if you have something available.

Indiana would have been closer for both of us.

It would be great if someone wants to post a video of all of the RIR that are at the show to you tube. I know I can't get away that weekend as we already have holiday plans.

Yes, Gary called and asked if I'd come and bring some birds (he had seen some of my youngsters) but I will have only one decent cockerel by that time. I think that one cockerel may be really awesome by then but that's a drive for one bird. I didn't do any late hatches this year so all my pullets have already been laying for a while and will simply not look as good by Nov and Dec as they did 6 weeks ago.
