She twirled on the ball of her foot and pranced away into the forest, smiling as she went. "So, you said you're human. You can control water... is it just that no one's ever told me they had special powers, maybe they assumed everyone knew...? How could I have never heard about it before? And what was with those portals? Do you think maybe someone else with powers made them? They must be pretty powerful if there's people from all over the planet getting sucked in."
He followed, much less gracefully, after her. As the explosion of questions met his ears, he had a sudden urge to yell: One at a time! but felt it would be rude to interrupt her. Therefore, all he could do was hope that he wouldn’t forget everything she had just asked him. This was a bit of an issue for him as he had developed a habit during his high school years of zoning out during class whenever the teachers were talking, which had then sometimes carried over into his everyday conversations with other people. He then responded, “Yeah, I’m just a regular guy, but one who has an uncommon ability. I know it doesn’t really make sense, but there’s not any other way to put it. As for why you usually don’t hear people going around talking about their special power or whatever it is, well, it’s hard enough to fit in as someone who doesn’t have anything unusual about them and you never know how someone might react. About the portals, I’m just as confused as you are, I have no idea why or how they appeared, but, yeah, I’m guessing something or someone of power must’ve caused them to show up.”

Lilith nodded, also picking up her pace in order to catch up to the group. "Yeah, I figured that out the hard way. I can just say a couple sentences-- Kak vashi dela? And rad tebya videt', but that's about it. I... Don't really think I'm saying them right, either." She said, trying to copy a Russian accent when she spoke in the language. I probably sound like an idiot. I should probably stop talking.

Kevin smiled down at her, while mentally-and probably physically- cringing at her butchered accent. “That-that’s good,” he said, struggling to keep a straight face.

"Oh, I guess that makes sense." She said. A cool breeze finally broke through the thick humid air, rustling the leaves in the trees. "This place is amazing. The trees in central park aren't like this. They aren't happy." She closed her eyes enjoying the coldness on her skin. "I like this place."

Kit is bilingual... and she’s a dog, I don’t even know a second language.
Take kept moving forward, catching up to the group but stayed behind them, not daring to go ahead or even in the middle of the group. Solely because of his phobia. He began to notice the change of the forest the more they progressed. Is the forest transforming or something..?
Blair glanced over her shoulder at Take, peering over the group to see him from her spot in front. She noticed how he hung back, and elicited a sigh from her, turning her gaze back to the path ahead. She didn't blame him for it, of course, but she knew it must be hard for him to deal with, fearing that someone's wrong movement could trigger him.
Her attention, however, was quickly diverted by the forest. Is it...getting darker? Crap, it better not be like that stupid forest.
The first thought that raced through Charlie's mind was Woah, a firebending homeless lady. He blinked stupidly at her for a moment, then simply said, "The portal," as if that answered everything. He took a moment to look around at his surroundings again to avoid her strangely intense gaze. It's so green and leafy. The strangely tall trees towered into the sky, but sunlight still managed to filtered through the leaves and light up the forest floor, which was crawling with bushes, mosses, and exotic-looking fungi. Of course, most fungi looked exotic, but these were the strangest he'd seen. The trees were odd, too- he was used to redwoods, being from California, but these were different. Many looked like normal trees on the other side of the portal, but much bigger.
"Well, duh." Aella rolled her eyes, sounding more like a teenager then an adult woman. "'Course you came from the portal. They dropped us all through one. I meant where do you come from? Like...New York or Carolina or something?"
When she noticed the group leaving, however, she spun on heels, quickly blowing out the flame. "Let's go!" She chirped, beckoning them and dashing howard the back of the group. "Don't want to get left beind!"

Oh crud. I screwed up. Lilith glanced down at Tru for a moment after noticing Kevin's cringe, but still giving a small smile. "'Ey, don't judge. I haven't said anything in that language for years. But yeah, I suck in speaking it, don't I?" She said, a quiet playfulness in her voice. She looked up at the forest for a second, her spine starting to crawl slightly at the way it darkened and seemed way more intimidating than when they had first arrived.

“I can tell,” Kevin said teasingly. “Nah, it’s not so bad. You just may have butchered the accent a little bit.”
He watched as the trees seemed to close in, darkness flowing through the forest. He kept his facial expression calm as he carefully pulled his gun off of his back, holding it at the ready. He didn’t like the movement coming from the corner of his eyes, although he didn’t know if there was something there, or if it was just a sleep-induced hallucination.
