Fred spun. “You have been avoiding me” Fred said accusation and hurt clear in his voice “I want to know why”
Kipps mouth dropped open, confusion plain on his face. "I..?" Right, Ellie said he wanted to talk to me, and I walked past him to help out Kyle. Kipp stopped walking suddenly and looked back the way they'd come. My med kit, I forgot it. Should I go back? He looked up at the shadowed branches. It's getting dark, it's probably a bad idea to go back now. "Uhh," he focused his attention back on Fred. "I'm not avoiding you."

“I can tell,” Kevin said teasingly. “Nah, it’s not so bad. You just may have butchered the accent a little bit.”
He watched as the trees seemed to close in, darkness flowing through the forest. He kept his facial expression calm as he carefully pulled his gun off of his back, holding it at the ready. He didn’t like the movement coming from the corner of his eyes, although he didn’t know if there was something there, or if it was just a sleep-induced hallucination.
"Heh, knew it." Lilith laughed, but out of the corner of her eye noticed him grab his gun. So it's not just me? She slowly unsheathed her dagger, clutching it in her hand. "Kevin, it's not just me noticing that the woods seem a little... Different, right?" She asked in a quieter tone, eyes studying the forest suspiciously.

“You are” Fred cried his eyes shone with salty tears. He shook his head and pushed his way back through the group.

Blair glanced over her shoulder at Take, peering over the group to see him from her spot in front. She noticed how he hung back, and elicited a sigh from her, turning her gaze back to the path ahead. She didn't blame him for it, of course, but she knew it must be hard for him to deal with, fearing that someone's wrong movement could trigger him.
Her attention, however, was quickly diverted by the forest. Is it...getting darker? Crap, it better not be like that stupid forest.

"Well, duh." Aella rolled her eyes, sounding more like a teenager then an adult woman. "'Course you came from the portal. They dropped us all through one. I meant where do you come from? Like...New York or Carolina or something?"
When she noticed the group leaving, however, she spun on heels, quickly blowing out the flame. "Let's go!" She chirped, beckoning them and dashing howard the back of the group. "Don't want to get left beind!"
"California," Maya said quickly, seeing as Charlie was still staring blankly at Aella. She stuck out her hand. "I'm Maya. Uh, do you know where we are? Charlie decided to jump through a vortex with no plan on how to get back." She shot a look at Charlie, who gave her a weird look in return.
As Aella dashed off, Charlie realized for the first time how dark it suddenly seemed in the forest. He dashed after her, Maya following behind and giving the undergrowth suspicious looks. Was it just her, or did the bushes seem like they were closing in on them?

"No clue. Can't seem to get a straight answer around here." Aella responded, coming directly behind the pink haired man from earlier. The darkness set the ginger at unease, flames glowering brightly the palms of her hands. Are the bushes moving? They're definitely moving...what the...?

Kevin shook his head. “No, not just you.” He said, looking around. “Something’s not right. We’re not along here. Something’s watching us.” He said, even though it was probably obvious. He could’ve sworn he saw a large pair of yellow eyes hidden in one of the bushes, but when he looked again there was nothing.
“Uh, did you see that?”

“You are” Fred cried his eyes shone with salty tears. He shook his head and pushed his way back through the group.
Kipp watched him storm away, his stomach turning. You're such a selfish jerk. He scolded himself. You could have said hi earlier. He sighed and fixed his gaze on the ground in front of him, his orange shoes still easily visible in the dim light, flickering in front of him with each step. The reddish brown detritus looked almost grey in comparison, the quickly vanishing light leaching all the color away. How do you always manage to screw things up?
