The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Take nodded, absorbing her words of the rough description of her niece. He looked towards the others, who were leaving them behind, “Come on let’s go” he told her, switching to a one hand grasp as he started to jog after them.
Blair nodded, following him quickly, taking one last glance at Aell, who was still upside down. Her singing had ceased to a quiet hum, and she was holding a small flame in the palm of her hand.
In a tree.
She groaned, keeping her mind to the task at hand. "Come on, Kit!" She called to the collie, who had her muzzle buried in a pile of leaves. "Laisse aller, Kit!" She let go of Take's hand, calling the dog in French, which instantly got her attention and she bolted towards Blair, tongue lolling. Sighing, Blair beckoned for her to follow, nearly immediately joining Takes side near the front, alert and listening, looking and smelling for anything off.

Kevin raised his eyebrows. “Really? Wow, impressive. Russian can be a difficult language to learn.” He almost asked her what happened, but her solemn tone told him not to.
He followed her gaze to the large bird flying up above, before back to where the others left. “C’mon, the others are getting very far ahead.”
Lilith nodded, also picking up her pace in order to catch up to the group. "Yeah, I figured that out the hard way. I can just say a couple sentences-- Kak vashi dela? And rad tebya videt', but that's about it. I... Don't really think I'm saying them right, either." She said, trying to copy a Russian accent when she spoke in the language. I probably sound like an idiot. I should probably stop talking.

Charlie stumbled out of the undergrowth, right in front of the group. "Hey," he said, panting a bit, "thought I'd find you guys here."
Maya appeared behind him, looking around at the strange assortment of individuals. "You know these people?"
"They were in the bug quest with me."
"So, you weren't lying." Maya muttered, mostly to herself. Then she punched Charlie's shoulder. "Why didn't you say so sooner?" She demanded.
"I did," Charlie complained.
At the sight of the newcomers, Aella let go of the tree branch, pushing herself off and landing not-too-gracefully in front of them. She straightened herself quickly, shaking her untamed hair from her face. "Hi, there." She grinned at the two kids, still holding a young flame in her palm. "Where do the two of you come from?"

“Dancing huh?” He said, smiling back at her. “Well, I’d say that’s definitely a talent, and one that takes a lot of practice too.” He cast a glance to his right and watched as the majority of the crowd began treading off in one direction. He then turned back to Juliana. “I don’t know about you,” he began, “but I think I’ll be going any direction that bat-girl over here,” he gestured to the girl who was still swinging upside down from the tree, “isn’t going in,” Bane finished, grinning.
"Hmm." She said ginning. "You're my kinda person. Shall we?" She asked jerking her thumb up in the opposite direction from everyone else.

Haddie didn't get to rest for very long before Kyle made his way under the leaves and started messing with her wounds. She groaned, internally because spotted salamanders don't have vocal chords, but let him do his job. After another fifteen minutes, she heard a bit of a scuffle and waddled out from under the leaves. She watched as the group started moving into the woods. She shifted into a human and started hobbling towards them. "Hey, Cam!" she called. "Can I, uh,"he stopped for a moment to catch her breath, wincing at how much her leg already was throbbing. "Can i do the canary thing again? i mean, can I... ride... on your shoulder?" Her voice dropped with her eyes and she cringed a little bit at asking a 16 or 17 year old to carry her. At least she'd only be a few ounces.

Haddie looked over at the boy, who was a good foot shorter than her. You'll be tiny, he can carry you, it's fine. She smiled back. "Thanks." She shifted into a canary and looked up at him expectantly.
Cam was about to reply ’yes’ but Kipp spoke before her. Which was okay, because that gave her more time to admire the unusual flora of her surroundings.
”Wow, that’s cool,” she said, touching the segmented leaves of a tree that looked much like her native Ohio Buckeye, but instead of being satisfied with a medium height and the species’ shapely beauty, perfect for parks and yards, the tree grew high above them, reaching higher and higher. Yet it had branches even near the bottom of its vast trunk, making it perfect for climbing. Cam could imagine spending hours up there, dangling from it’s branches.
Suddenly, Cam felt a pain in her left foot. What was that? Cam lifted a socked foot-decently crusted with mud- to reveal... nothing. She had probably just stepped on a sharp rock.
That’s when the thought registered. I’m not wearing any shoes. Oh. Wasn’t that typical of her, walking into strange portals without at least putting on shoes?
Well, there’s not much I can do about it now.
Cam peeled off her ruined socks and shoved them into one of the many pockets on her khaki cargo pants.
She then took a careful, decisive step and continued on.
Something like a mouse, but bigger, with a slightly fluffy tail and a horizontal line of blue spots from head to tail, chattered down at her.
But nowhere else could she see any additional critters. And could it possibly be getting colder, or was that her imagination?
Well, it was certainly getting darker. The trees were definitely getting thicker and unfriendlier. Cam shivered, despite the warm weather and her thick sweatshirt. What in the world was she getting into?
Colby was quite proud of himself. By simply giving into his urge to make like the fastest thing alive, he'd amassed an entire search party.
He waved down at Mr. Beck and Rylie the roadblocks, beaming shamelessly. "Isn't this great? We'll find all of the missing kids way faster with everyone!"
“Yes. As long as everyone is here,” Kyle decided. He turned Rylie in the other direction to make sure everyone was properly following.
Control freak? Never.

“Let’s.” He said, stepping aside and opening up his arm as an invitation for her to lead the way.

She twirled on the ball of her foot and pranced away into the forest, smiling as she went. "So, you said you're human. You can control water... is it just that no one's ever told me they had special powers, maybe they assumed everyone knew...? How could I have never heard about it before? And what was with those portals? Do you think maybe someone else with powers made them? They must be pretty powerful if there's people from all over the planet getting sucked in."

Kit is bilingual... and she’s a dog, I don’t even know a second language.
Take kept moving forward, catching up to the group but stayed behind them, not daring to go ahead or even in the middle of the group. Solely because of his phobia. He began to notice the change of the forest the more they progressed. Is the forest transforming or something..?

The first thought that raced through Charlie's mind was Woah, a firebending homeless lady. He blinked stupidly at her for a moment, then simply said, "The portal," as if that answered everything. He took a moment to look around at his surroundings again to avoid her strangely intense gaze. It's so green and leafy. The strangely tall trees towered into the sky, but sunlight still managed to filtered through the leaves and light up the forest floor, which was crawling with bushes, mosses, and exotic-looking fungi. Of course, most fungi looked exotic, but these were the strangest he'd seen. The trees were odd, too- he was used to redwoods, being from California, but these were different. Many looked like normal trees on the other side of the portal, but much bigger.
