"Not that I'm saying there's imminent death ahead," Nat amended quickly when she realized what she'd just said aloud to be overheard, then of course began calculating the possibility of imminent death ahead. Honestly, she'd really like to say she'd had enough of imminent death for today -what with RYLIE- but of course she couldn't leave it at that, because there were always invincible backups...and armed dead ends...and spontaneous walls of flame and other such inexplicably powered, instantly-incinerating phenomena...and infuriatingly tiny little patches of water that always proved fatal when you least expected it...Cam gazed at the mounds of gold and a red shiny metal. “Why isn’t there any silver?” she asked. She picked up a red piece that had been hammered into a coin. “But there’s all this red metal.”
Korim smiled and picked up a red coin. It sparkled in Kylan’s light. “Red...” he said. “The color of money... No one would bring silver with them on a journey. It’s much too valuable.”
“Interesting,” Kyle said, getting a far-off expression as though he could somehow fit that bit of information into his theories about the meaning of life.
