The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Cam gazed at the mounds of gold and a red shiny metal. “Why isn’t there any silver?” she asked. She picked up a red piece that had been hammered into a coin. “But there’s all this red metal.”
Korim smiled and picked up a red coin. It sparkled in Kylan’s light. “Red...” he said. “The color of money... No one would bring silver with them on a journey. It’s much too valuable.”

“Interesting,” Kyle said, getting a far-off expression as though he could somehow fit that bit of information into his theories about the meaning of life.
"Not that I'm saying there's imminent death ahead," Nat amended quickly when she realized what she'd just said aloud to be overheard, then of course began calculating the possibility of imminent death ahead. Honestly, she'd really like to say she'd had enough of imminent death for today -what with RYLIE- but of course she couldn't leave it at that, because there were always invincible backups...and armed dead ends...and spontaneous walls of flame and other such inexplicably powered, instantly-incinerating phenomena...and infuriatingly tiny little patches of water that always proved fatal when you least expected it...

She took in a sharp breath, friends had always been a touchy subject for her, she smiled wryly. “Sometimes they back me but not against my parents” Aria smiled sourly she sighed attempting to shake the thought and bring herself back to reality
Sometimes? That doesn't sound like friends to me. He gave a side smile, sympathy on his face. "I uh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories." Kylan apologized, feeling bad that he'd made her relive some toxic memory.

Lilith listened to them mutely, keeping that fact in mind. It could be useful at some point in their journey, who knew.
When she suspected no one was going to say anything to her, she slipped away, going a bit farther into the cave to be alone, leaning up against the wall and simply spying on the others with dulled interest.

Kyle shrugged. Little people forgot their troubles quickly after they had happened, and Rylie’s almost-death had already flown to the back of his mind. As long as everyone was together, and in control, Kyle was calm. He actually enjoyed the risks and adventure. Borealis was already high on his list of favorite places. Actually, he didn’t really have a list of favorite places because before Laurel, he had never even left his town.
Kyle pulled a tiny piece of bread out of his pocket and nibbled on it.

“It’s okay. You had no idea, I suppose it’s not super traumatic but I just need to think up a back story as to why I disappeared” Aria said “maybe I should say I teleported and ended up being kidnapped by some random pirates who held me hostage”

Take couldn’t help but smile even wider at her retort, putting his arm around her back to draw her closer. “Too bad I didn’t understand most of what you said there Einstein, but you sounded smart” he admitted, patting her head. Assuming she was going to fall asleep soon, he wanted to ask something before she did, “How do you say goodnight in French?”
"Its just fantasy nerd knowledge." Blair murmured. "I would try and explain, but I'd probably confuse you more." She scowled slightly at the head pat, but was too tired to do anything about it. "Goodnight? Bonne nuit."

Ciro picked his way through the fringes of the roaming group. He'd just realized he hadn't made any real efforts to approach Aella in awhile, let alone talk to her, and that's what this increasing guilt was about...even know he didn't quite understand it. Maybe it was their discovered mutual discernment of the vastly different -yet strangely similar- worlds they lived in that had him feeling obligated to keep her company, or maybe he was completely off about that. Maybe he just...wanted to be close to her.
We're friends, he trumpeted internally, then mentally drooped. Or at least I want us to be. But you don't just forget about and completely ignore people who are your friends for days on end, do you? Even with we-sas and dragons, that seems pretty unforgivable.
He frowned as he carefully thought that over, then hurried ahead anyway with even more purpose than before. What exactly did he have to lose? He'd just have to make it up to her, somehow.
Or would a gesture of reconciliation be too forward?
You want her to be your friend, he firmly reminded that side of himself.
Yes, the whole of Ciro's subconscious concluded, not decisively agreeing on anything.
"That was...interesting," he ventured awkwardly once he'd come within a few meters of Aella. "I hadn't really grasped the full potential of the company we've been keeping until now." That unintentional extra statement also served the dual purpose of reminding him that she was, in fact, a member of said dangerously powered company. But that realization didn't do much for him besides have his contrite smile widen.

To sum up his feelings about the past hour, Colby yelped, "Ayek," or something close to that, and continued as tightly pressed to the eerily warm cave wall as possible. He wouldn't vehemently deny being a bit on edge after everything, but he wasn't going to let on about being petrified, either. So staying away was good.

"In my experience, the treasure itself isn't cursed," Nat mused thoughtfully, much to herself. "That's usually just the resulting misconception from the uninformed public's perception on the sudden deaths of the hapless adventurers whose egos were too blown up to expect the second lethal guardian."
Aella, rather put out by how ignorant Korim was to her fiery display, scowled at Kylan's sparking hands. She was watching the light dance across the piles of golden, silver and red, illuminating the many different colors and hues. It cast strange shadows that crawled along the harsh, rock walls of the cave, looming and swaying.
At Ciro's voice, she turned, greeting him with a grin. People came and went constantly in her life, and she expected nothing less of him, no matter how kind he was. Very few stayed. She wanted his company, wanted the friendship of someone who was so similar even with the vast difference between, but didn't dare approach him during the past few days. However, his appearance clearly made her happy, if her grin and the sudden brightness of the flames on her hands and arms were any indication.
"I never thought dragons existed," she tossed a flame around from palm to palm, occasionally glancing at it. "I mean, I guess it's not that hard to grasp, considering werewolves and vampires and stuff exists." She held up the flame, as if to make a point. "Dragons, though...they're something you see in books and movies, not real life."

Fred caught him by the arm, “I think we should investigate further before we jump to any conclusions. That portal could take us straight back up to the prison”
Just as Take was about to repeat her words, he overheard voices from the kids, mentioning the words ‘portal’ and ‘home’. It caught his attention immediately, “Aye! What’s going on over there?” he hollered in their direction, moving Blair away and getting to his feet. He peered at the kids huddled around the portal surrounded by bright blue scraggly glowing lines that traveled all over the rock in the cave. He walked up behind them, eyeing the deep void of the portal that mixed and stirred. “There’s only one way to see where it goes” Take said simply, suddenly grabbing Fred by the arm and yeeting the boy through.

“Ahhhhhhh TAKE I HAAATE YOU” Fred bellowed at he flew off the ground flying through the portal.
