He waved tothe others as they disappeared into the portal, the numbers depleting until there would only be three left. It felt like they were truly fading out of Take’s life, never to be seen again unless he sought them out.Life without Take was something Blair didn't think about.
Life before Take was dark. It was hopeless, dull, painful and depressing. Then she met him, and everything was flipped. She had someone she trusted, someone who dealt with her anxiety without getting frusterated, someone who put up with her late night texts.
Someone who was a constant amongst the chaos of life.
It wasn't like she was losing him for good. But it wasn't like there was internet in Borealis. Which ment no texts. No calls. Less contact then they had had back home.
"But I need you." It came out a nearly a whine, her shocked expression slowly fading into a blank stare, something that hadn't happened in a long while. It was the most selfish thing she had ever said. She wanted him to be happy, she wanted him to live his life to the fullest, but with her.
She'd give up everything to stay with him. She'd give up her family, friends, school and dance career if it meant she wouldn't be seperated from him. But in the end, it was also selfish. She had to say goodbye and turn around and not look back, but the selfish part of her refused to let go. She ignored Kit as the collie twined around her legs, tongue lolling. She couldn't find anything else to say, just stared at him expectantly.
Take rested a hand against Blair’s cheek caressingly, his thumb rubbing it affectionately. He sighed softly to her desperate words, “Listen, I need you too, but you gotta think of who needs you even more.” he said with sincerity, gazing into her yellow eyes “Emma. She needs her aunt to get her home safely, she’ll be lost without you.”
