No crappies? Really?

I wouldn’t have thought our waters that different. But I have never heard of anyone catching them on Isle Royale either, and I fish that a lot. But our lakes nearest Isle Royale have crappies.

Isle Royale should be part of Minnesota. It’s closer to us and we use it more than you guys do.

no crappies in my province, only sun fish that's here is rock bass. (no native large mouth or small mouth bass either)

should of said am also from out west (Saskatchewan to be exact)

main fish here are walleye, pike, perch

was hoping to maybe go rabbit hunting this weekend, think am going to have to wait and see pretty cold here.

A favorite place my dad & i used to go to was an old turkey farm. Pieces of sheetmetal and old farm implements at the fence line. Perfect for cold weather rabbits. They wouldn't run out till you kicked the metal.

am after jack rabbits, not sure if they go under metal or stuff like that.

I don’t think they do, but sure don’t know for sure. Around here Jack rabbits are in the middle of fields hiding under grain stubble or behind a corn stalk.

yes, seems they are where you least expect them to be. never found them in brush piles yet.

Crappies and Northerns yesterday. It was real windy and cold so standing on the ice was out of the question. Fished inside the shelter the entire time.
