The hunting/fishing thread!

Crappies and Northerns yesterday. It was real windy and cold so standing on the ice was out of the question. Fished inside the shelter the entire time.
Largest trout i ever caught was on a 19 degree day with sleet. Them fishes don't care what the air temp is.

I’m strictly a fly fisherman but I don’t care what others do. I was just kidding. Nice fish you caught there.
Oh I know the on-going tease between fishermen.
I've caught alot on a fly rod. From gills and bass to trout. And once when I was about 7 a Rhode island red. Lol. Lesson learned snip the hook off when chicken fishin.

Have you ever caught a seagull?

Hint, cut the line before it gets to the boat.

No but I helped a kid reel in a and unsnag a duck at a city park. He didn't do it on purpose.

Fishin for chickens is how I learned to fly fish. Dad wouldn't teach me but I can't blame him. 7yr old slingin a hook round on a 7' rod.
I'd get home from school and take his rod in the barnyard to practice. Finally got so I could feed line out and figured the only thing left to do is see if I could fool a fish that my fly was a bug. No fish but chickens everywhere. Chickens like bugs.
Hooked in the beak. After that I only used a fly with the point & barb clipped off. Catch & release. Lol
