The hunting/fishing thread!

Like catching bass, but they are horrible tasting.
I had that discussion with a deep Southie, not a regular Southie like yourself.

They insisted bass were good tasting fish…

I like them through the ice they are clean tasting then. But even a catfish tastes better in the summer.

Bass were designed for catch and release fishing.

Ya, I don't mind them through the ice.
living in upstate NY I don't consider myself a Southie.

Don't get into a southie debate with Ralphie. He thinks anyone lower than Canada is a southie and will then show you his ill conceived map

Yep, I have. Boring and easy to kill.

And not as good eating as a domestic one.
First day of the season:

Last day of the season:

There were many, many days spent trying in between, with a couple of close calls, but in the end, only two shots were fired all season. Turkeys can be incredibly smart, and incredibly stupid, incredibly aggressive, and incredibly paranoid. Some will RUN to your call, some will hang up just out of sight for hours. These two were incredibly different hunts, but both were far from boring.

Successful or not, if a day in the woods is boring, you're doing it wrong.

I am sorry, we will have to debate this on the Southie thread… where you will lose, naturally as the map is in my favor.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to loose. Regardless of what you have on your map, I'll fight you tooth and nail... And win...
Now have fun catching some bass. Post pics.
