The Ignis Brotherhood ~^~ A Technology Roleplay ~^~

Aspen frowned slightly as he noticed the two, glasses of water on the coffee table, he went and set the food down on the counter in the kitchenette, then came back into the main room.

"I'm guessing they were more hopeful." Anise replied with a touch of longing in her voice, the soft sound of the mist covering Aspen's return...

Aspen began slowly walking past the coffee table, towards the bed rooms, eyes narrowing is suspicion, hand poised to pull out his pistol, "Anise...?"

"Oh, f***! He's back." Anise hissed and jumped at the sound his voice.

Rin swore violently enough to make a sailor blush. "Do we hide?"

Rin swore violently enough to make a sailor blush. "Do we hide?"

Aspen was almost at his rooms door, and he could just make out two voices in there, one, he had no doubt was Anise, the other, he wasn't sure, but whomever it was had a colorful vocabulary. He gritted his teeth, breathing slowly, trying to calm himself, he didn't want to blow up at Anise, even if she was in his room with someone else.

Anise glanced around them frantically, but there was nowhere to hide, unless she counted the only other door in his study, the room filled with his illegal weapons stash, though she didn't know they were illegal. But that room was lucked with a different pin then the study door, and Anise didn't have it.

Anise stood up a little straighter, realizing that this day had been coming for a long time, he needed to change, "No, I'll handle him," she said calmly, and started towards the door.

Aspen stepped out in front of the other door, seeing his study door wide open, with his sister standing boldly in the opening, and some other girl standing inside it. That was too far.

Anise could see he was about to go off, so spoke before he could, "Aspen, it's time you changed, you've been living a separate life that you don't include me in for too lon–"

He cut her off, voice low and controlled, but his jaw was cleansed, "That does not give you the right to break into my study and–"

"And what?! Aspen, and what! I have the right to know what you do!" Anise spat, her voice moving an octave higher as she took a step forward.

He backpedaled, despising himself for being so protective of his things and secrets that it had caused such a rift between them, he hadn't know... "I did not mean it–"

But Anise cut him off again, all the resentment because of her exclusion from his life after them being separated for years bursting from her, "I don't care how you meant it!" She advanced on him as he took a step back, "What is it you do that is so important that you can't even tell ME! Your own sister! Tell me, if you have ever cared about me, then tell me what it is, or as far as I'm concerned, you don't care,"

Aspen was frozen in place, he couldn't handle this, couldn't process it. No, he couldn't tell her about his illegal activates, he was helping the enemy in trade for trips outside the dome to collect plants and seeds, especially with that other girl there, but he couldn't lose his sister, the only person who cared if he lived or died, the only person he had ever cared about...

At that moment, Lexa just happened to text the location of the warehouse to him. A tiny beep sounded, and the text was instantly sent to the computer chip implant behind his ear. He looked away from Anise, "I have to go, I just, I can't–"

"What?" Anise couldn't keep the shock from her voice, was he really choosing whatever he did, instead of her... He started to turn, but Anise didn't move, "Are you leaving, why are you leaving?!"

But Aspen didn't answer, he couldn't answer, and kept walking, all the way to the door, grabbing his coat off the rack.

"Aspen! Why are you leaving, answer me, Aspen?!" Anise half screamed, tears coming to her eyes, "Aspen!!!"

But it was too late, he was gone, in more then one way. Anise was shaking so badly, that she had to sit on the edge of his perfect bad, and she started weeping. He was gone...

Violet got up and walked out of the room, starting to grab her weapons.

Lexa sat on the front of the car they would be taking, legs crossed, assessing her weapons - two Subcompact Semi-Automatic Pistols, and a Pump-Action Grenade Launcher. Aspen had sent word that he was on his way, so Lexa decided to call Violet up, and tell her that everything was ready to go. She wondered briefly if Violet had Dally's number, and decided to ask, maybe they could pick him up on the way, so she took out her phone and called Violet.

Violet picked up her phone. "Do I have Dally's number? Yes, but he never answers unless he wants to. Every conversation he has takes place on his own terms." She shuffled to where Lexa was and hung up, because she could just speak to her normally. "I'll just text him, though. Tell him to meet us there." The address was sent.

Luckily, Dallas was in the same area as they were all heading. Unluckiky, the area was now being patrolled by cops looking for him. He looked over the edge of the roof carefully, counting how many there were. The only way out of this was to jump. The buildings were built really close to each other, crowded for space reasons. He ran and jumped to the next building, to the next, to the next. After that, he took the stairs down to the bottom floor and became one with the crowd, until he took a side road to the meeting place.

Lexa slipped her phone back into one of her cargo pants pockets, "Thanks Vi, I think he deleted me from his contacts and blocked me when I started sending vintage pics of cats in clothing." She said with a laugh, then hopped down from the front of the car and was about to jump in the hover-car to head out, but then thought better of it. She walked over to the security room to take a look at the monitors, "Vi, we have company." She called as she observed the dozen or so cops around the building.

Rin was frozen for the exchange, staring, eyes growing wider by the second. When Anise started crying, Rin found herself on the verge of panic. Oh my God. She's crying. That means I'm supposed to comfort her, right? That's what friends do or something, isn't it? But I'm s*** at that! It's not in my nature! I don't have a choice, do I? F***.

Cautiously, as if approaching a wild animal, Rin walked over to her friend and put a tentative hand on her shoulder. Every word that came to her sounded either weak or stupid or really, horribly insensitive, so she just stuck with gentle contact.

((Eek, sorry about the length of that! Though, I had an oddly good time writing it...))

(Well of course you had a good time writing that! It was fabulous!)

((Thanks, I could almost feel their emotions pouring off of it when I reread it.))

Anise knew the situation was uncomfortable for Rin, it would be for anyone, it was for herself. So she mentally calmed herself, pulled herself together, and stopped crying. She wiped her eyes, and breathed deeply, "I'm so sorry you had to see that, Rin, I should have just apologized to him and that would be that," Her voice was a bit hoarse, but she tried not to sound like she felt, abandoned, just like she had felt during those years in foster care, "I shouldn't have tried to force him to change, I'm such an idiot. I'm so sorry Rin."

Lexa was not one for waiting, but she also wasn't in such a hurry that she would have Violet risk her neck to get them on their way. "If you can clear them without gettin' injured, caught, or killed, them by all means, go for it." She said with a slight sake of the head, contemplating sending a few grenades out there...
