The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

My Gang is 22 wks! I really had no idea how big they'd get. I've photographed them next to a 5 lb bucket for reference. The boys average 8.5 lbs and are finally growing into their feet.

They are as wide as the bucket.

They are taller than a 5 lb bucket

And much cuter than the bucket!

Gosh, my God Chilluns have really grown up.Love the lacing, and it looks complete for a change.I love the wide feathers on the second to last photo, the second from the left. Which one is that? Pullet?

Nice photos Deek. Thunder made the 5 gallon bucket comparison about a month ago. He's so huge. Yours are also. Very Nice.

Thought this was kind of cute. Was trying to get some good Blue Barnie shots (who did not want their picture taken) but if you look in the background all the orpies wanted in the picture

(even the whites in the next pen over)

Rockinpaints, I can't stop thinking about how much I like the blue ones! Is Blue Barnie short for Barnavelder? How old are they? They are so darn cute! Of course, my favorite are in the background!

That's what gave me the idea, actually. I remembered seeing Thunder and being able to put his size into perspective. His name suits him.

Dee, I love your Gold Laced Orps. I have 4, but their feathering still looks rough. I will show them when they look as nice as yours. I am jealous. But, I know mine are going through that ugly stage. The Gold Laced Orps have always struck my fancy. How can a chicken get any prettier? Their feathering is so awesome.

I spoke w GreenFire Farm about the problem I had w my Chocolate Orp roo it turns out there not barring but the last of his chick fuzz growing out, they said once he grow out his adult feathers the white would no longer be present, pew I was starting to worry.

I would say the chick fuzz is gone at this stage, she looks well feathered.

If I remember correctly, you got your GL from Rockinpaints, right? You will most assuredly have spectacular birds! Just wait and see. It takes them a while to lace up.
