Is there a diagram or picture that you could post to show what you are explaining. And how would one know if it is a requirement or a defect on certain birds?

OK, these 3 young hens(27 weeks old today) have been laying for only a little over 3 weeks...Look at me when I talking to you.....

and one of then laid a double size egg yesterday, I guess that's why I only got 2 eggs today from the pen. OW!!! That's got to hurt!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm!!! General Lee you have anything to do with this...........Talk to me boy...........

3 eggs from my BBS Orps today! They are finally realising they need to start laying again...

Mine just stared laying a couple of weeks ago!!!

I paraphrased what is in the APA Standard of Perfection. You would have to have a copy of the UK Standard to read to see what the color requirements are for imported birds.

I've mentioned that there are two chicken nuggets that I've been madly in love with since day one. Can momma hens have favorites? I finally took a picture of one of them. She acts like a girl, but...



Here's the other one that I've been so in love with since day one

I named her Kay and I think she's definitely a pullet, so Kay it is. This is today's picture of Kay at 5 weeks. Every feather of this beautiful little baby is laced from day one.

Sadly, one of the lines is only producing 50% laced babies from first feathering. The lacing continues to come in, but I want it NOW.

They are some pretty birds! Thats for sure! Got my first egg out of my splash/blue pen today!!! Now the fun begins!

OMGoodness, I just noticed your signature for the first time...I couldn't handle all of those laced varieties. You're brave I'd have to be on RX meds.

There is a drawing of shafting in my APA SOP. Shafting is a defect on most colors of birds.
