I love looking back at photos of some of my favorites and seeing their progression.
Here is B Boy at 5 months. I noticed he doenst have a red comb yet so that alerts me he will probably be large as he is maturing slow.

He hatched the latter part of May last year. He is still filling out but he is breeding now. I actually have a few chicks pipped in the incubator off hiim..

He weighed over 10 lb a few weeks ago. He is gentle too. I am hoping to get some great chicks off him. He is just special to me because he brought me great delight when I needed some physical hope. I remember pushing myself to get up and go out to see the only two chicks I had hatch for the Spring of the year. A hen hatched him and a pullet and they made it with out much care because i was not able to check on them or move them to proper pen. They grew and could get out of the coops and just ran the yard all day and i would wonder if they would make it or if something would get them. I sure enjoyed seeing them out on the green grass foraging.

Here is a pic of him running the yard

Ok, I'll give her until Sat. I need to work up the courage. She's very protective. :D
If they are eating and the chicks are eating I leave them alone. Sometimes those chickens know more than we do. If the hen will not get off and take care of the living..I kick her off and take the eggs.(it happens)

Roger..is this normal..this color? I have a ton of those out of blue to blue..very few blue..and a bunch of black. The splash are white with a few dots. I am quite surprised.
Cute chicks. Mine don't start splashing until about three to four weeks out
