The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I have 4 young cockerels, about 3-5 weeks, that I need to find homes for - if anybody is interested give a yell. I'm also done hatching chicks !! I am going to be selling a few hatching eggs, so if anybody is interested let me know.

Great pictures Katy !! I can't believe how big they have gotten. The picture of your first girl reminds me of BlueBell !! I need to try to get out and take some updated pictures.

I know about being done hatching, I have 18 of Biggies offspring that I now need to narrow down to just a few in hopes that even in them one or two will make the grade to show next year. All the other I will need to find homes for. So far I have only narrowed out one pullet that is ready to be rehomed. Guess I better get out there and start looking everyone over.

I hear ya Tricia - I have so many chicks - it got way out of hand, QUICKLY !! LOL. I've got the last batch of eggs to go into the hatcher on 05/04 and then I am DONE !! I've got to concentrate on getting some other stuff down in and outside the house.

Actually the only one of yours in the pictures is the roo!! The others are either hens I hatched from Julie's eggs two years ago or pullets I hatched from those hens last year.....My girls from you were in too much shade yesterday when I went out and the pictures just didn't turn out well. I was going to try to get some pictures of them today, but it's overcast this morning. Maybe this afternoon.

Right now in my hatching/brooder room I have bantam cochins, silkies, bantam marans, olive eggers, bantam orps, bbs orps, english lav split orps, project bantam orps, speckled sussex and an oops salmon faverolle.

In the incubator I have way more than I want to say.

I think I need to open a chicken store!

You have to have a full English hen or rooster in order to work your way up. The four cockerels that I have available are 100% English- so you could breed the 50% English back to one of them and keep working up - doesn't take long.

I'm going to try to get some good pictures of my Gold-Laced today - the change in them in the last week is amazing !! It is really fun watching these grow out.
