I finally received my new computer from Dell, so I've been moving pictures around and organizing folders the past few days. I came across a few old pictures that made me smile, I thought I would share them. Some have been posted on this thread before.

This was the last picture I had taken of my first Splash cockerel Edmund before he was lost to a predator.

I also wanted to say I'm so very sorry to those who have lost birds recently. I can't imagine having to deal with losing a loved pet again and just how hard that would be.

Oh and I have 14 (or maybe 15?) eggs in the incubator from my girls right now, today is day 2.

True crele can be misleading since there are many "hobby names" for colours and patterns that mean different things. You could call true crele either "barred over gold duckwing" or "barred over black breasted red" or "barred over wild type partridge". Basically, crele is the wild type e+ (ie. the jungle fowl colour) with the barred mutation over it.

(Legbar describes more of a type/breed rather than feather pattern)

True Crele is either Barred Brown Red or Barred Partridge.

...I think.

That bird Jeremy was made by David Pownall.

Here is a link with the same pic.

I found this on BYC talking about Crele

Crele is a Game colour, it is made by a combination of Barring & (gold)Duckwing . Black Breasted Red is a male colour/pattern common to ER Birchen crow winged birds; eWh Wheaten & eb Brown duckwinged birds. The latter make pseudo Crele looking birds.
Crele is an autosexing bird that can be made following this guide, substitute Barred Rock with a Cuckoo or barred bird of choice ( this depends on the breed you are wanting to make ie hardfeather Cuckoo OEG, softfeather BRock,Cuckoo Leghorn etc) and substitute Brown Leghorn for Partridge OEG,Welsummer or Light Brown Leghorn etc.

In OEG the darker heterozygous male e+/e+ B/b+ are shown as Crele, as are the hens. The lighter homozygous e+/e+ B/B males are called Mackerels, there are no light Mackerel hens, as all hens are hemizygous e+/e+ B/-.
Silver Crele can be made using a Silver Duckwing hen.

Thanks for the clarification Bill, so technically the bird is Crele then?

The cock you posted is awesome. We need English Orps like that here in the US!

From what I read "YES" Jeremy. I think their one in the same.
I read on another site Neil Grassbaugh saying here we call them Crele over there they call them Legbars. But their talking about the same color.

So, theoretically you could make some Creles with your Cuckoo and Duckwing project Orps... lemme know if you want to share those eggs down the road.

Yeah, I actually have one more girl who is showing signs of being like the first one I showed pics of. I am not sure if this younger one will wind up having the same Salmon Breast. I hope so. IF not I have alot of boys I need to use with the one for sure girl.
Once I make some more I will be letting a few have some of these babiees
In the backround is one who has mostly Brown feathering with a bit of the same pattern. I also have a Brown cockerel who is feathering in like a Birchen. he will be a good sized Orpy type cockerel. I will use him on the Brown girl in the backround.

Better pic of that girl in the backround. Not too sure what I can make with her. Take her to a Black cockerel and shoot for a solid Diluted Black or Brown. Or go to this Brown Bircheny cockerel who will have the type and who knows what will pop out. It is hunt and peck method here.

This girl is camera shy. IT is her first photo
