The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

The pics are not the best in the world and the clouds overhead made the color come out slightly off but these are my three Orps.

This is Roger the Roo. The wind is quite strong and ruffling his feathers and his head is a blur because he loves his food!

Both of the next ones are mostly of Wilma (center stage). At least I think it is Wilma. I have a hard time telling Wilma and Betty apart. Betty is slightly smaller and shy.

Edited: They are 7 weeks 2 days old.

Very pretty babies!

Thank you. For some reason the overhead clouds and the camcorder is making some of their feathers look blue when they are in "real life" a lovely shiny brown. I've been trying to make hubby take different ones but he refuses.

His phone takes better pictures but it won't sync with the pc.

Edited: Found one where they look slightly less blue

Jeremy,

Go to Orpingtons Galore and there you will find a Crele rooster, being a cross from Buff rooster on Cuckoo hen. The lady that owns these birds in England is an authority when it comes to colors in Orpingtons.
Let me know what you think after visiting her website.

Marc

Ahhhh Orpingtons Galore. . . So much eye candy, I must have eye cavities! Blues and splashes are still my favorite but, sooo many other yummy colors. It''s a good thing I can't run to the "chicken store" (great idea) and get beautiful birds right this minute!!

Today is my bird's birthday!

Exactly 1 year ago today I received my little chunkers from Joy.

I'm happy to say I'm even more in love with them now and their little babies that were hatched just a few days before today.

They look a little rough around the edges, a few of them are still molting or finishing up their molt.

Did Beth get hers from the same hatch that you did? It seems I recall they were the same, but I may be wrong.

LOVE the pictures, Jeremy! Happy Birthday to them!

I think they were shipped out around the same time Kathy.

Have you heard anything from Beth? I haven't seen her on the forum in awhile, I hope all is well her way.

I fed them extra special tomato treats and carrot tops for their birthday, they seemed to love it.
