How have you been?

Thanks Jeremy. I am doing well. Been super busy. I am about to have a new grand in just a day or so. I have been looking at everyones pics when I have time. Your chicks look good.

Congratulations on your new grandbaby.

The chicks are growing bigger and bigger every day. I have a few that I've got my eye on, one lighter Blue pullet in particular. They're all only around 2 months old though, so it feels like it will be forever still until they are grown.

It does take a long time to grow them out. I still can't decide who I am keeping. Of course the pullet but on the boys. I need at least till Jan to know the finished product.. You can't really tell how the tails will finish at this point. All their combs are looking the best I have ever had.

Yup, they still look like big babies, I remember Neville when he was in that stage.

Neville is molting now, his tail is completely gone and is pretty brassy from the sunshine this summer. I can't wait to see how he looks at the beginning of the year.

My girls are all molting and look sad, sad, sad.

I am very pleased with my chicks this yr that go back to your lines. Pretty sure I have posted some black girls on this thread somewhere. I have blue and splashes but they are younger and are just starting to bloom out. Came home last evening (just before dark) from shopping to snow falling....Isaac brought in the food... while I was out in the garden cutting turnip greens... YES I was picking greens in the dark... while it was snowing ugg. My hands were soooo cold... I was in the kitchen processing greens when Brad came home.. He had to shine the truck lights on the garden so he could pick the beets. Needless to say.. I was didn't get done with chores until nearly midnight. Always something to do around here... OH OH and my daughter and 4 yr old grandbaby are headed up this way Friday. I found them a house about 4 miles from us. It sure is going to be great to have help feeding the chickens.. lol

Every ones dream....to have family close by to visit with AND to lend a hand!! I'm envious...I have no relatives within 3 hours of me!

Welcome back Bama....love your flock!

Julie,
Your birds are just the greatest. Super nice looking young birds you have there. They just get better and better every year. You definately know what you are doing. Good luck this spring breeding season. They have all been stormers with the "WOW" factor for sure.
