Red Splash (or sometimes called Harlequin) ckl for sale.
You would breed him with a Blue Red or Blue female.

I have to ask what's the difference and Lord have mercy why are they so expensive? (I saw some on an auction site and they were like $500) How are these at egg laying compared to Non English orps? Orpingtons are a dual purpose breed, how do they measure up to being dual purpose?

The Red Splash could not be found in the latest copy of the American Poultry Standard, but this colour is known as "Butcher's Apron" or "Harlequin" by the American Game breeders. American Game,a fighting fowl,is not governed by the APA. Pekins are known as Cochins in the US,so Red Splash could be an informal, non Standard, colour of these birds.

Question:
Is this colour commonly phenotypically called a harlequin?
Answer:
No, it is a Pekin hobby name, in American Game it's called Butcher's Apron.

Question:
In my head the term harlequin implies mottling .
Answer:
Harlequin is a Black & White mottling in Pit & other Games.

Maybe Blue Red Sport birds

If you have ever imported a bird (or egg) just once and saw what the expenses and procedures it would help one understand.

It will allow you to appreciate what the importers are doing. Not about making money on expensive birds.... I just want to break even and bring a bird over for everyone to admire.

Hmmm... now wonder if this girl would be a good start to Harlequin as she carries both red & blue genetics. Just not sure what to cross her with?? She is a bantam orp by the way.

I am most certain greenfire farm and other importers are doing this for altruistic reasons only.
