The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Louise,
What do the mottled orp chicks run for 5-6 chicks shipped? Did you see the pictures of my jubilees? I am very happy with them!!! They are absolutely massive!

Nate

Just a warning to everyone who posts photos of their birds here . I've had some weird calls about my birds . I'm may be a bit paranoid after having a young pair stolen this summer , but I want to give everyone a heads up , that I smell a rat.

We are taking Orp. security very seriously after this summer . In addition to locks on all the runs, cameras have been installed that monitor everything . My husband, bless him , was going to give me the system for Christmas , but decided we needed to install it NOW !

In over 50 years breeding birds , I have never had this sort of concern before.

Be safe everyone !

Good advice! Reminding people that you have indeed had some stolen is never a bad idea. I'd hate for you or anyone else to lose any!

I admit I've even been pretty nervous about the compliments and looks I get at a couple of mine. But so far so good. There was one lady that stopped by and was determined she was going to buy Olive, my avatar. I wouldn't sell her at any price and I was scared the lady was going to come back at night she wanted that hen so bad. But thank goodness she didnt.

Well Maggie, My black German Shepard says know at the fence to a stranger only once & the rest is on them, but I wouldn't advise them to try it, they might get by her, but not by me.

Best money ever spent..get the HD Cameras not going to tell you how to set them up..just think about licence plates..I can see a fly on a tree 3/4 mile away.baby monitors let you know if there is any night time Disturbances..one night time critter can...people seem quite desperate about this too..it Is not worth taking chances. It's a little disturbing how desperate they seem to be about getting to these birds..
