The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I like that idea for a chicken area. I' m happy with mine. It has been work in progress going on two years. My barn is 16 x 15 x 9 feet. 7 pens with two levels to each pen windows on the east west and south sides. All thats left is the brick walkway and to brick feed storage area and paint it. My other barn is fully enclosed with two different types of wire and has a 8x8x8 coop on it. This houses the quail and a step down brooder. Five outside pens that are 20x20x 15 covered tops for pheasants or peacocks. Another little barn that is 6x6x 6 with roosts and 3 next boxes. The common area is a 1/2 acre with 2 3 1/2 sided lean two with multiple banks of nest boxes and soon to be close-able half door. Oh i have another coop in the front yard as well.
sounds like a great set up Vivi..someday you will have to show us some pics for inspiration..Im into function especially in a NY winter..this going from coop to coop just seems redundant..get them all in one use the coops for breeding pens...Ive saved some pics that other people posted that look like great functioning set ups..

Morning BYC friends.  Some of you knew I had a family member who was very sick this summer.  My sister-n-law lost a very courageous battle with cancer on the eve of Thanksgiving.

A family friend wrote a beautiful tribute to her and I have posted it on my website if anyone is interested in reading about Peg.   Tribute to a special Lady
Thank you for the well wishes throughout the summer.
Sincerely,
Nellie
I am so very sorry for all of you that your sister-in-law has lost her battle. I can tell by the writeup that she was loved by all. It touched me. Saying a prayer for your family.

If I ever get to set up my long building plans... I would also put doors in end of each run... Will make a lot easier to keep it clean :p
Yep! I have plans (like who doesn't) for a barn when I finally get to move that includes those. Hopefully it'll actually get done!

Hey guys, pop over to the coop threads when you get a chance and take a look at the coop I am building. Would love your input. Especially you Renie as it will be home for your babies.
Thanks!

I saw these on the Poutrly Keeper (the images belong to someone in the UK). These are gorgeous and I am not a big fan of white birds but this Silver Laced is sooooooooo beautiful!!! Anyone got these? How would one go about making this color?
