The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I saw these on the Poutrly Keeper (the images belong to someone in the UK). These are gorgeous and I am not a big fan of white birds but this Silver Laced is sooooooooo beautiful!!! Anyone got these? How would one go about making this color?

Go to the chicken calculator and play it just like one of the electronic games and you should be able to figure it out.

I do have silver laced orpingtons but the pictures you posted are of something different. I am not exactly sure what that color would be called on those chickens. I can research and find out. Could you direct us to the link where the pics originated?

I just found them so ethereal looking. I'm too busy with my Legbars to think about making my own colors but if I could or did this would be on my agenda. I'm not too familiar with Orpingtons but was starstruck!!!!

I'll have to look and see what Silver Laced looks like. These look like a lace tablecloth. Oh so pretty.

It looks like a mix of different varieties to me, wouldn't breed true. But Shaffer is right, it most closely resembles the silver penciled coloring. For Birchen the bird would be black with silver in the hackles.

I agree after looking at it closely and for longer it appears to be more pencilled. I found a picture of what someone was calling a silver birchen orpington. It looks similar, but not 100%. Like OSUman said, it is probably a mix
