The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

And Julie..we sure do remember those huge babies..hope you do post some pics...they are amazing I'm sure..can't wait to see how they are coming along.

Here is a video of what looks like English buff cockerels that someone has in with isa hens..I was wondering what their goal was..put more body on isa? Better egg laying in orp? I think people who put up these videos assume we understand what they are trying to accomplish..Nice looking cockerels ...:D

I did make a few pics this morning. Not great lighting and they are in there stall pens with a light. Eight weeks old and already looking broad and like little hens

Sorry this is through wire, but limited distance to shoot a pic.. You can see how broad they are and tall

Maybe they just wanted to add some eye candy to their flock of layers and got some culls off a breeder.

Julie..looks like patch of 2013 winners to me.. :D .love the 8 month old..he is fantastic..so now I'm having a nice relaxing afternoon Touring the bama Flock..what a treat after the rough work week!

Thanks Lynn. I am resting a bit too after two months of working hard and cooking tons of food and washing lots of dishes and enjoying family. I am needing a break. I haven't made soap in nearly two months for lack of time. Am about to do that this afternoon. Seems good to sit without something pressing to do.

I am checking a younger group out to see how the lower temps in the bator worked for hatching more pullets. I am afraid that is another wives tales.
