Very pretty birds Nellie!

They are Blue based though, correct? They appear Splash to me. Do you plan on outcrossing to White Orps in the future to create a (genetically) true Buff Laced White bird? It could be done using Gold Laced and White birds. Then you wouldn't have to deal with the color leakage from the Blue breeding.

Yes they are blue to blue breeding and carry 2 copies of the blue gene. I'm not sure what it would produce breeding to white? Would you loose the lacing all together I wonder?

Thank you all, I think they are kind of a tri-color. But they are very pretty.....Kinda dainty looking

From making buff Silkies years ago....... I would find a white Orp with brass in the hackle and use him.My buff Silkies all had blue underfluff until I used the white/ yellow hackled male again.....and again.

Would that contribute to the buffed laced white or solid buff?

this blue hen in the front is a girl I hatched in 2010.I gave her to Imogene last year cause she didn't have enough blue hens. She is a little over two and let me tell you they get better the older they get. The male we hatched in 11. I weighed his brother today and he weighed 12 lb
. I She has exquiste lacing

She is huge too. Let me show her lacing up close

BTW, I took these today and the green you see is from our 70 degree weather.

This girl right here is year old and to dark and has shading on color. Her lacing is good and her type is fabulous. I hate that she has such poor coloring She is pretty though
