The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Irene that is Great.
Vicki even if you hatch cockerels there are enough folks out there who would love to have a shot of English blood in their flocks to sell the extras.

Irene you should have a good size flock to breed with by next season. Cant wait to see a Chicken pen full of them

X 2.. pullets everywhere too!

Let me get this morning started with some pics of my Red pair.

Did I ever mention that this is by far my favorite hen. I think I did somewhere. I love her head. It's regal.

I was going to mention that I love her head shape, she's just got that wonderful Orpington "look", you know what I mean?

Absolutely beautiful birds Alton. Are you incubating eggs yet?

You are now on the list! This might be good...with a demand for EBO Ks, maybe Mother Nature will bless me with less than 75% Ks this hatch !!
She's a funny old gal, with a sense of humor !

If you want pullets then just send me some eggs... historically we've always hatched pullets here, sometimes too many, if there is such a thing...

Maybe there's something in our water?

I have a theory, and I don't think there's any scientific verification behind it, but I always have run my incubator a few degrees cool. This has resulted in some late hatches but I've always had plenty of pullets to go around too. Coincidence?

Renie and hardinpoultry, good luck with your upcoming babies, sending good vibes your way!

ETA: And you too thedragonlady!!

I would totally take a buff cockerel... would be nice even to add 50% English fluff to the babies ;)

Oh please, people have called you a lot of things, Vickie, but I bet "Mother Nature" never was one of those things! :gig
