The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I was looking at Delisha's beautiful chicklets and noticed their feet appear almost solid black. Is having white on a black chick's feet a flaw? Is that acceptable in blue or splash chicks? Thanks guys!

Black and blue varieties have a black beak, red ear lobes, black or dark brown eyes and black or blue legs and feet with white toenails. Soles of feet are white in the black variety.

Don't worry... much like the size of their feet... they will grow into them.. lol

You can have them hatch with pink toes and dark up the shanks. They will turn dark eventually. Those are just some really dark legs.

Jhorn you can look at the legs on the black and white chick. If it is mottled it will have mottled leg color.

I would say keep hatching from this pair and then breed all the anomalies that match togather

Quote: I have red bingo glass daubers in the water.(A little larger then a marble, but flat) It is to help attract the chicks to water and drinking. They like red.
Lynnie thought you might enjoy these. They are a little dirty cause it is still muddy here but was a really nice day!

WOW...Those are beautiful...prettiest I have ever seen..
Quote: Most of the chicks have dads bright white toe nails. But not on all of the toes..it is shocking against pitch black legs and even odd looking with the slate legs.

My last two have piped..I set 31 eggs and have 29 out. I hope the last two make it out by morning. I am exhausted.
